Pale vertical stripe on black prints

2" from right edge of paper starts 1" wide pale (almost not visible) stripe from top to bottom on black prints.
Same vertical pale stripe 2" from left edge of paper 1/2" wide.
Color prints are ok.
Any suggestions.
Thanks

Every printed page has a pale pink background from edge to edge

Hi again Jan,
It is possible that your drum but to be sure, get a trained Xerox Technician to check it out...

There is still a possibility that it is something else entirely, so getting a technician out would be the best bet... Sorry I couldn't give more of a definitive answer. Sometimes things need to be seen in real life to diagnose properly.

Vaio LCD problem

Periods.......Nice little items because they denote the End of a sentence.
See how this works?

"I have a vgn cs36gj, I was working with it, suddenly the LCD became pale black, I connected it to external monitor and it has a picture, sometimes after turning on for 30 minutes LCD start working normally, but after turning off and disconnecting power when I turn it on, it only shows a pale black picture, you know it is on but only black!"

Now you try it.........

"I have a vgn cs36gj. I was working with it, suddenly the LCD became pale black.
I connected it to external monitor and it has a picture."

Okay, I got that part.........

"sometimes after turning on for 30 minutes LCD start working normally, but after turning off and disconnecting power when I turn it on, it only shows a pale black picture, you know it is on but only black!"

WHICH LCD?
Laptop LCD?
External monitor LCD?
Man on the moon LCD?

1) If the external monitor LCD goes 'pale black', the problem is the graphics chipset.
This I do not believe

2) If the laptop LCD goes pale black, this I believe.

I have a canon ip4200. On plain paper, standard print, prints in pale, pale lavender/blue, with hyperlink in blue (clearly seen on paper); on high and custom, the print is barely visible, with hyperlink...

Ok so on reading this it appears that your are barely printing black.
1. have you tried a genuine canon cartridge?
2. have your performed cleaning on the black cartridge?
3. Start the printer and ask it to print something. While it is printing kill the power and gently move the carriage to the left. On the right side of the machine you can now see the purge unit. You will need a torch shining on the purge unit. check it to see if there is a paper scrap anywhere near or on the purge. It may be soaked in ink so may not be easly seen.If so remove it and perform cleaning again.
4. Clean the wipers on the purge with a dry cotton bud.

If none of this works then its looks like a blocked/weak printhead and you will need to replace it.

Good luck

Black Printing is very pale and "Stripey" despite

If your printer prints with faint vertical banding like this:

slamfix_36.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. I have a link to instructions that should help you http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300 Hope this helps you.

Show me how to work this problem out on paper.a cylindrcal pale is 12 inches wide ( r=6 inches) and 10 inches tall. how many times would you have to fill the pale to move 5600 cubic of dirt

Hello,
I will give you some hints, and indications. You do the Math.
You have a certain volume of dirt that has to be moved. For that you use a pale the volume of which you do not know right now, but can calculate.

The final question is: How many time do you have to scoop with the pale to move the volume of dirt.

Answer: The number of times I have to fill the pale is equal to the Total volume of dirt divided by the as yet unknown volume of the pale.

As you can see we cannot proceed further until we find the volume of the pale.

Volume of pale
Solid Shape? Cylinder (its base is circular)
Volume of a cylinder: Area of the circular base times the height (10inc.)
To calculate the volume I need the area of the circular base.

Area of the base =Pi* square of radius = Pi *(6)^2 in^2 (do not forget the units)

Volume of pale = Pi* (6^2)*10 in^2 * in =Pi*10*6^2 cubic inches.

Number of times one has to scoop.

Number = Volume of dirt / volume of pale

You cannot proceed further until you correct the error in the data. As you can see, when you calculate the volume of the pale the unit is cubic inches. However, your question states 5600 cubic of dirt.
Do you see what is missing?

Now you are on your own. Good sailing.

Clean the nozzles, align the print heads, turn it off for about an hour. You may need to do this twice, but it works for me.

42" Panasonic Plasma - Vertical red stripe 6" from left side

We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?
