SOURCE: adjust carburetor gas and air intake on craftsman chainsaw

There is too much information to relay so I would suggest you go to Searspartsdirect.com and type in your saw number and on the right side there is an area for a manual. You will need to use your email addy and select a password for this but it is free. You can view or download the manual and the area you need is on page 15. Let me know if this won't work and I will copy and retype info requested.

SOURCE: Poulan chainsaw gas line routing?

There ARE two holes in the tank. One samll and another larger. One is on the left side and the other is on the right. Look carefully and you'll find them. As far as connections of the fuel lines:

The line from the fuel filter in the tank goes directly through the small hole in the tank to the top nipple on the carb thus giving the carb a constant supply of fuel when running. The primer bulb is used only for "priming" and does not play a part in the fuel flow after that function. The bottom nipple on then carb then goes back to the nipple on the primer bulb which is clearly marked "Carb". The above connections are made with the smaller diameter tubing. From the primer bulb, marked "Tank", the larger diameter tubing is routed to the large hole in the tank. The tubing goes into the tank only 1/2 to 3/4 inch. As far as getting the tubing through the holes in the tank, cutting the tubing at a slant. But no matter what you do it is still a witch. Be patient, use some Vaseline and avoid the temptation to get out the drill and **** the hole to a larger size.

How to repair fuel line on craftsman chain saw model number 358.360260 16 inch bar . how to do it .

Fuel lines are generally fixed by replacement of the fuel line because the rubber it is made of deteriorates from age and alcohol contained in gas. Before you begin, make a mental note or take a picture of how the fuel line runs from the tank to the carburetor so you will be able to put the replacement in the same position.
On most chainsaws you need to take some wire, make a u-shaped end, which will be used to grab the fuel filter in the fuel tank. Drain the fuel in the tank. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor. Generally there are two lines on the carburetor, one for fuel, the other line creates suction used to pump fuel and is connected to the motor, not the fuel tank . Just disconnect the fuel line, it is usually on the side of the carburetor and will leak gas when disconnected. Once this is done, using the wire, gently grab and pull the filter towards the filler opening and using needle nose pliers grab the fuel line above the filter and pull. The problem you may have, is if the fuel line is in bad shape it will break, But once you have the filter off the fuel line, the fuel line can be pulled out from either the inside of the tank or from where it comes out of the tank and goes to the carburetor. Once it is removed you are ready to put the new fuel line in.
It is best to put the fuel filter on the fuel line next. It easier than trying to put it on inside of fuel tank going out. Spray some WD40 or equivalent, on the outside of the gas line, to help the line squeeze through the whole in the back of the tank, which it will have the go through. From the outside of the tank, where the fuel line comes out, fish some wire inside the tank and put the fuel line on the end of it, making sure not to pierce or damage the fuel line. If needed a piece of black tape will hold the wire better and help fit the line through outside hole. Once the fuel line is on the wire, pull it through carefully out the other side of the tank. It is best to use your fingers to pull the line through the outside hole, it makes it less likely the line will get torn or overstretched as line goes through the hole because of the extra rubber used on the line to seal the tank from inside and outside. Once the line is pulled through and seated, run the other end to the carburetor and you are done.

Digram of fuel lines for craftsman chainsaw model 358.350180

There are two lines inside the tank. The short line with no fuel filter on the end of it goes to the inlet, (suction) side of the primer bulb. The long line inside the tank, with the filter on the end goes directly to the fitting on the side of the carburetor. The line, inside the air box from the outlet side of the primer goes to the remaining fuel line fitting on the carburetor. (This is not my post)

Is there a picture of part placement? gas is leaking

Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Make sure that none of the lines have been replaced with plastic--use only the original rubber type. Check the carburetor fasteners for tightness. If the fuel seems to leaking from the case, you may have a cracked tank. If so, replace the tank as no glue or epoxy will provide a permanent repair. Check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Good luck!

Fuel line replacement on Poulon 2050 14 inch Gas Chain Saw

First rule is to replace only one line at a time. Needle nose pliers is the only tool you should need. Replace the fuel line from the filter in the tank to the carburetor by removing the filter from the line, extract the line out of the tank, and remove the other end from the carburetor. Use the old line to measure for the replacement. Measure the point where the old line passed through the tank wall down to the filter connection. Mark this point on the new line, and push the line into the tank far enough to attach the filter (which you have checked for plugging), then pull the line back out to the mark. Make sure that you use the proper line for this connection as the filter must flop around to the lowest tank level so that the saw doesn't run dry of fuel when operated on it's side. The other connections are straight forward--just replace one at a time. Don't be stingy in making looping turns as you don't want future kinks. Hope this helps!

Fuel Lines - 25cc Craftman weedwacker

Your Craftsman Trimmer/weedwacker:

Best Poulan Engine Match (probably real manufacturer):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/BC2400-Gas-Trimmer-Type-6/75.BC2400-Gas-Trimmer-Type-6.1.59.1.html

My decisions are being driven by my experience with Poulan chainsaws. Small hose in tank (long enough to reach all corners), filter on bottom, connects to lowest connection on carburetor. Small hose on upper carburetor connection to small fitting on primer. Large hose from large connection on primer through largest tank hole, roughly mid tank long. nothing on bottom. I suggest you leave the 2 connections on the carburetor long enough they can be swapped (just in case) then try it. if no go swap them.

Typical fuel system and a suggestion or two:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3706813-2_cycle_fuel_system_repair

This is how I would configure it if a chainsaw, doubtful they would do something completely different. In defense of Jerry, he knows how it should be done, clarity of instruction could use some help. Good Luck. HTH

Craftsman edger won't start

Does it have a primer bulb? If so, make sure the bulb is not cracked. Also, make sure the fuel lines are not cracked and the fuel supply line reaches the bottom of the tank. Fuel lines, as silly as it sounds, degrade when exposed to gas for long periods of time. If they are cracked it will draw more air than fuel and not allow the engine to run. You can buy replacement fuel line/primer bulb kits for under $10 at practically any hardware store.

Need diagram for fuel lines on craftsman chainsaw

There is two sizes of line. I see the large one goes to the large port on the primer button and then to the fuel tank. The small one goes from the primer button to the carb. The problem is there are two hose connections on the carb. I believe one is a vent, but I am not sure what one it is. I have a 36cc 2-cycle model 358.352161
