Laptop comes on great and seems to make all the right noise but the screen looks like the old vhf/uhf tv screens from the 60's....wont show a thing encept "fuzzy static"...it's a slimnote...

Hmmm, well either your Video Driver needs to be re-installed or you need to change the windows resolution settings.

XP: Right click the desktop and left click properties. Clickthe Settings tab and you will see a slider bar in the middle left. Move the barto the right or left one at a time and eventually you will hit the correctsettings for the monitor.

Vista/Win7: Right click the desktop and left click on Screen Resolution. Whereit says Resolution, you can change the settings to the Recommended settings foryour specific monitor.

Cheers!

Old twinhead slimnote 5100c do not start

Try removing its HDD and another removable disk. Finally the RAM module. If does not, take it for repairs.

Twinhead Efio 121i dead

It is problem with your laptop's SMPS ie. Switched Mode Power Supply.

Due to which your laptop can't get regulated power supply neither from Power Cord nor from Battery.

Yes, your LED will show charging but its useless because your laptop's Mother Board Chip is not getting power.

So please ask some hardware engineer to replace it.

Rate this solution if it was helpful to you.

Need to install operating system on laptop with no cd rom or driv

I believe this model of laptop was designed for Windows 95, which can be installed using only floppy disks. That would be just about your only solution. I would not recommend trying to install XP or anything on it, due to the outdated hardware. If it has a PCMCIA Slot on it (most do) you can buy a USB adapter that goes in there. But, as I stated before, I would just install Windows 95 on it (or possibly 98SE) Good Luck!

Broken DC in Jack

I agree, the best option is most likely a motherboard replacement.

You can search Ebay, there are several places that advertise DC power jack repair, But from my experience, repair is an iffy proposition.

Will not boot ??

sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)

This might sound weird but it works........

Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work
