No wireless connection

This solution is for Broadcom wireless adapter only. Since you have Atheros, this solution will NOT work for you....
I am trying to figure out a solution for Atheros adapter as well....have patience...Have a nice day..

Atheros AR500EG wireless Network adapter tired

Well those are actually PCI cards. You can have the wifi card replaced or buy a USB WIFI adapter as that would be cheaper.
