Owner's manual for older Schwinn Airdyne

I have acquired an older Schwinn Airdyne #7072044 - that's the only number I can find - and would like to find an owner's manual.  Do you have any suggestions?  Any help would be appreciated.

    I have an older Schwinn Airdyne which I purchased new and used for several years. After several years of non-use, I want to use it again. So far as I can tell, it is in like-new condition and works perfectly except I cannot get the console to work. I installed new batteries, but it still will not come on. The serial number, or only number I can find, is 4188030.

Follow this link and you can download the owners manual as well as the exploded parts schematics. There will be information about the different years. other than the consoles they have remained the same for 20 + years. If you ever need to replace the bottom bearing be sure to get the lock ring as well. It changed from left hand thread to right. Thats it. You can also upgrade the console to the newer version. A little expensive but with proper care a 20 year old Airdyne will last till the frame rusts out from under it.

You are not going to find that, even from a Schwinn dealer. If it is only a cover (provides no other function) just use some tape.

What kind of batteries does the schwinn Airdyne take its about 22 yrs old?
Most computer console batteries for Airdynes are AA, you'll have to open up the console/meter housing in the back to replace them. I will be attaching a link to a diagram of the housing. Hope this helps, sincerely SportSmith..

I have an older (25+years) Schwinn airdyne bike. The mchanism on the front wheel hub that drives the cable to the speedometer is not working. As a result, cable not driven and no load or speed...
How about going to a Schwinn dealer who has been in business for a long time? The speedometer drivers are no longer available, you have to get it changed over to electronic. This not something that you can do on your own, it has to be done by someone who knows the product. We have been in business 40+ years and sold Air Dynes since 1979, I do know what I am saying.
