It appears as though this product was subject to a safety recall, so it may be difficult to get any real support for this product from the manufacturer. See the following link for details of the recall notice and for the company contact information:
If you still would like to use the product, you could always check the Ebay listings for an inexpensive second hand model and just salvage whatever parts you need from that. Here is a link to one which currently has only a $13 max bid for then entire unit plus shipping:
I've had a similar problem. If you open up the case and examine the wiring you might find that there is a loose wire right next to the switching mechanism. Solder the wire back on and the chopper should function.
I've had the similar issue, my chopper was accidentally dropped & stopped working after that. After I soldered back the short wire, chopper came back to normal operation. Hope this helps.
I did some additional web searching due to the fact that the Ultimate Chopper website or 1-800 # doesn't support this product anymore. I located a website (Maxi-Matic, USA) that has an identical Ultimate Chopper (names Super Elite Cuisine Chopper) - model EC-750 - Phone # (626) 912-9877. They have replacement parts including the clear plastic cover lid.
I would take just the motor and put it in my oven after I pre heated it at the lowest possible setting, and leave it there fo about four hours, be sure that the temp is not above 125 degrees. Leave the door open, this should dry out the motor.
The Kitchenaid food choppers have a few safety features implimented. If the unit is not assembled
properly, this may prevent the unit from turning on. Proper assembly is
below:
If it isn't all ready, please disassemble the entire unit. This means removing work bowl, work bowl
lid, and blade.
Start by placing the work bowl onto the motor base. The work bowl
handle should be facing at 9 o'clock, which is out to your left. Rotate
the handle downward until it locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which
will lock over the center of the button panel.
Repeat the process with the work bowl lid. The blade does not need to
be present for the motor to engage, if this is an assembly issue.
