Are you sure the display is good?if it is failing POST then you have a hardware issue you should be able to access the bios prior to POST if you get nothing at all no prompt no screen flicker i'd say your issue isn't the computer failing POST it is something in the screen or the. first test your monitor if you can hook it up to a desktop monitor make sure the lid is closed.

if its not the monitor try pulling the battery while not plugged in.make sure it isn't stuck in hybernation.can you open a panle in the back to clear the cmos?are ther any beeps?only other thing i can think of since it is a laptop is the memory.if you can try a boot disk like "the ultimate boot disk"and test the memory.

Ok it seems you should check its ram module. Reseat it or clean at the most with soft eraser its edge connector. But you should first disconnect its battery and other power source, and shut down completely before performing a cleaning on ram module.

Model S400CA-CA006H, Power ON, only back lit blank display. Battery icon is green while the BULB icon LED is orange in colour.

  • rjsymmes has the most accurate solution. Start with a battery replacement. Next course of action is to use a Bootable Media Source (Windows Disk or Recovery Disk) to see if the laptop responds and can have the Start Up repaired. If a Boot Media fails, then examine RAM, Hard Drive removal, then boot. Last resort Motherboard.

When i restarted my lenovo N500 y can here it start up but there is no picture the screen stays black

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Do any lights come on when you press the power button? If not, did you get all the cables reconnected properly? If lights come on or fans come on when you press the power button, then it sounds like the screen has gone bad. That is the symptoms you are describing.

My Lenovo-3000-N500 has gone totaly dead and cannot be started and booted when power-button pressed. Both mains charger and battery are ok.

Clearly it's a hardware issue if your laptop is still in warranty call lenovo thinkline @ 18004267378 because it might be a possible DC-IN port or motherboard problem..Request for service repair.

Hello,

Even though a lot of things might have gone wrong and caused this, especially if where you place the laptop is not well ventilated, and the CPU becomes very
hot.

It then shuts down automatically...and you will have to wait for a few moments, get a cool environment and power it on.

But I will also try and tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try.

First of all, disconnect your battery from back of the laptop, and try to power your laptop without the battery there, if it powers up, then just get a new

battery.

Second, get a screw-driver, remove all the RAM(memory sticks) at the back of it, clean their interface with an eraser, and try to power it on first without

them, then replace them back and power it on.

Alternatively,

Remove all your RAM(Memory Sticks), and clean the tip of the connector with an eraser, and re-insert it one after the other.

That is, if you have two of them, after you insert the first one, put on your system and see if it works, then do the same thing with the other one.

If the two of them works, them insert the them all. but if it is just one that worked, just remove the other one that is not working and replace it.

Also from what you have just said, I suspect that your hard drive is likely to be corrupt, or having a bad sector on it.

To be sure of this, disconnect your hard drive from the laptop, and power it up without connecting the hard drive, if it boots up to the point where it says:

"Operating System Not Found" or "No Bootable Device Found", then that shows that your hard drive needs replacement

Kindly Let me know how it goes.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck!

Tecra M2 doesn't boot is it a processor problem?

given the symptoms, it points to motherboard.. if it was processor, video or ram. it wouldnt boot at all and you'd just get error beeps from your laptop. i'd first try resetting the bios, by removing the bios battery for 30 min, then putting it back in. if that doesnt work try changing it out, usually costs under 8 bucks. if that doesnt work then I would change out the motherboard, if its cost effective.
