Re: the outside middle front & left hand side of the...
The reason you feel heat by the middle of the door is because of the "mullion heater' or anti-sweat. Check the temperature of the freezer, must be below 12*F for the ice maker to work.

I have exactly the same problem with my Westinghouse side by side! And it only happens when it's hot in the house. Would love to hear what's wrong. And the fridge is 5 years old. Bought new.
It is likely that your fridge is tilted left or right, and possibly forward at the same time. Most refrigerator doors will self-close if the fridge is slightly tilted both back and to the handle. The fridge is raised or lowered by adjusting the front feet or rollers.
The problem you'll encounter with a side-by-side fridge is that if you adjust for the right-hand door to self-close, there's a good chance that the left-hand door will want to stay or fully open; if you don't check it while making the adjustments. It can take a little extra time to make sure the adjustments make the front both perfectly level left to right, AND slightly higher in the front than the back.

No this is not normal. You have a failure of air flow in your condenser. I will explain how to repair if you wish to make the repair youself. If this is not addressed you will soon realize a reduction in cooling and a higher use of energy.
There is a fan that pulls air in from the lower right side front of the refrigerator grille located below the fresh food door, and exhausts the air on the left side of this same grille. Remove this grill and clean the coils with a vacume cleaner and a brush. Pull the refrigerator out so you can get behind the unit. Unplug the power cord from the wall. Next remove the screws from the panel behind the refrigerator near the bottom, the panel may look like a piece of cardboard, but it is a critical component. Once this panel is removed you will see the fan motor and fan blade, make sure nothing like a food wrapper or animal is stuck in the fan causing it to be stuck. If it turns free by hand (it will be real hot down there so be careful), then the motor needs replaced. If you send me the model number I can find you the replacement part number. Let me know if this helps.
This should be OK. There are heat strips placed behind the door frame to prevent sweating around the door frame due to the metal being cold normally without the strips. Thanks, Sea Breeze
If the water is visible in the front, more than likely the hose has become disconnected from the door, if you look at the lower left hand corner you should see the hose come from underneath the machine and attach to the door via a plastic quick connect, it is just a push lock connection. You may have to pull of the toe kick and the left hand end cap depending on the model to see this.
Hi, When that strip gets hot, it is a sign the temperatures are not cold enough. Put a thermomitor in the freezer. You should get a reading of 0 to 5 above. If not, let me know and we can try and get you through this.
Had the same problem. I opened the "meat" lever controlling the "hole" between the freezer and fridge compartments (mine is next to the crisper trays at bottom) and put my finger in it to clear any blockage. It's been 24 hours and the center post is no longer hot. Think maybe I had a blockage or the hole was closed off and whatever is in that middle wall needs the cold air flow for cooling. If you discover some other remedy, please let me know.
