Air Conditioning 92 GMC Pickup, AC compressor does not kick on in AC mode, or defrost like they sometimes do. It is full of freon, not over or under charged. I checked to see if the compressor has power, and it does not. All fuses (under the dash) checked out good. I also tried to jump the connector on condenser (can lookin thing) for the high/low pressure cut out to determine if that was it. No luck there either. Any ideas as to why the compressor is not getting power to kick on?

If you have no power (12v) to the power wire at the A/C compressor clutch and have jumpered all of the switches then you need to check for power coming out of the A/C switch on the dash. Also there might be a pressure switch on the back of the compressor that you can jumper also. You can also check A/C compressor relay in the under hood fuse/relay box. There might be a fuse in the under hood fuse/relay box for the A/C too. Hope this helps.

Why isnt the air conditioning working?

could be several reasons. could be a fuse, a bad belt, no Freon, or a loose wire on the compressor or a leaking Freon hose. IF you hear the compressor kick on when you turn on the ac, but have no cold air, don't continue to run it because the compressor uses Freon as a lubricant also. Take it to an ac shop.

Ac is not blowing out cold air. You have to put gages on the system and it shows its has freon.Checked all fuses and relays. The two fans in engingine compartment do not come on when the ac is turned on but does when the engine gets hot. The compressor engages when turned on also.
If the magnetic clutch engages the compressor and still no cold air could be still low in freon or the HVAC unit.

Blower motor not working all the time...if I bang the dash near the glove box, it comes on then works great. Is this the switch assembly, the resistor problem, or should I be replacing the blower motor?

Kia rio 2002 air conditioning problems, Hi, currently my air conditioning just doesn't start at all, it was working properly and suddenly witout a warning it' just stopped working. It does not work...

If the AC compressor is kicking in and out then you are probably low on freon. If the Compressor isn't kicking in at all then the problem could be a fuse or relay in the Power distribution box or the fuse in the interior of the car. If the fuse and relays are good then the problem could be a bad clutch on the compressor or a bad compressor itself. If the compressor is kicking in and out then get a freon refill can from Walmart or an Auto parts store and add freon to the system until the compressor kicks in continuously.

The AC system is making an purge noise not sure if when the compressor kicks on the belt slips or what because it only does it while driving not at idle. In the cab windows up sounds like purge widows down...

If it is a purge noise the highside pressure may be getting to high and relieving pressure.Usually this can occur if there is too much freon or a restriction in the ac system. The defroster utilzes the ac as well which is why you can hear this. From your description it sounds as if the compressor clutch bearing is going bad.

Air conditioning system takes a charge, but the

high pressure switch is kicking out on overload, replace it or you might have too much freon

A/C blowing hot air. Compressor activates and system has pressure.

Could be the expansion valve. That's what allows the temperature to actually drop in the system - the contents of the AC system are under pressure, and are at a certain temperature. When the freon goes through the expansion valve, the pressure drops suddenly and dramatically, which "flash chills" the freon, allowing the air to blow cold. If it fails, you may get lukewarm air from the AC despite everything else working. Also though, check to see whether the AC evaporator fan (underhood) is working - on some cars, if it doesn't turn on, the compressor won't be run enough to cool the air.
