I have a 2006 Mazda 6. The rear end makes a clunking noise after I just put new shocks in rear?

The clunking noise you're hearing from the rear of your 2006 Mazda 6 after installing new shocks could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. Loose or worn suspension components: If any of the suspension components are loose or worn, they can make a clunking noise when the vehicle moves over bumps or uneven surfaces.
  2. Misaligned or damaged control arm bushings: The control arm bushings can become misaligned or damaged, which can cause a clunking noise when the vehicle is driven.
  3. Worn sway bar links: The sway bar links connect the sway bar to the suspension and if they are worn, they can cause a clunking noise when the vehicle is driven.
  4. Improper installation of the new shocks: The clunking noise may be caused by improper installation of the new shocks, such as not tightening the bolts properly.
It's best to have a professional mechanic take a look and diagnose the issue. They will be able to identify the specific cause of the noise and make the necessary repairs.

Turns over then cuts off

Clunking noise sounds like a piston to crankshaft problem. You can do a compression test to determine the bad cylinder.

I have a 1997 toyota rav 4 that makes a clunking noise whenever I turn the wheel. What is it?

Hi

Is it a clunk clunk clunk noise? Then you have a CV joint that needs to be replaced. This is called the CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT, and helps you turn the wheel when it is in motion.

It has ball bearings inside and when the housing wears out, they make that clunking noise.

See your mechanic for a change and see if you can replace both wheels at the same time.

Hope that helps.

Happy motoring.

My 2008 trailblazer is making a clunking noise when I stop

2 things to look at, check your front swaybar end links, these tend to make a clunking noise when bad. Also, if you're having a feeling of beeing bumped a tad with that clunk, check your slip yoke on your driveline, needs to be greased.

Clunking noise

The clunking noise may be a broken weld on the drum.  Every time it turns and passes through the guide wheel supports, it makes a thunk thunk noise.  You will need to have a qualified LG technician diagnose the problem correctly but that's what it sounds like.
