Not printing from my laptop

I have a canon mp460 printer and cannot get it to work to print out pictures from my computer, i have put the lead in the front but nowts happening, thanks linda.

Linda you have to install software and a driver for that model printer onto the computer to get it to work. Have you done that?

If you have inserted the USB cable into the slot on the front of the printer, it will not print from the computer. That slot is for direct printing from a digital camera. You need to insert the USB cable into the port on the back/side of the printer. The port is almost square in shape, and should receive the end of the USB cable that is square with two rounded corners. The other end of the USB cable, much more rectangular, goes into the USB slot on your computer.

goto printer properties and select printing preference, from there you will be able to select the setting, under custom setting you will be able to adjust the brightness and contrast of the print out.

Hello Try
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Cannon MP460 will feed paper through printer but not print

Check your printer sharing in the system preferences... make sure it's on.. then when you get the print window, look for your printer under shared printers... try it that way... worked for me on my wifi network here.

Canon mp460 wireless printing

you need to in stall the drivers on your computer for the printer. and make sure you phone is not connected to the printer at the time you are trying to use it with your computer as this can cause problems to.

Maybe your mp 460 printer is doing the same thing mine is. My problem is that when I try to print from the computer, the printer wants to copy instead, so a blank page comes out. I don't have a solution suggested yet. Jayceedee

Duplex printing won't work

There is no duplex on this printer, two sided printing is only achieved via manual feeding, I checked the canon website spec for the MP460
