Hi, I appreciate your wiring diagram for the Oreck XL motor --but it is too small to read. Could you send me a readable copy. Thanks very much for your help! Nels Klyver

need a wiring diagram for oreck XL vacuum motor. Note that Oreck will not provide any information.

  • nels_klyver Apr 29, 2009

The users manual from Oreck has NO INFORMATION on wiring the motor --so it is useless. The motor diagram is for a Honda motor NOT Oreck and is also useless.

  • nels_klyver Apr 29, 2009

I need a wiring diagram for an Oreck XL motor. There are 5 wires- 2 from the cord and 3 from the light. The Oreck site does not provide any wiring information and Oreck refuses to help.

I did purchase a new motor and it did not come with a wiring diagram.

  • nels_klyver Apr 29, 2009

I purchased it from Completevac.com. I assumed it would include a wiring diagram but it did not. I spoke to their shipping department and they said a wiring diagram is not included

  • nels_klyver Apr 29, 2009

I have tried this. Completevac.com sent me a reply that they do not have and will not provide wiring diagrams. They refer me to Oreck who, as you know, also refuses to provide any information.

  • nels_klyver Apr 30, 2009

There is no "owners manual schematic." Oreck refuses to provide any help or information.

There are no posted wiring guides available for your motor. I Called Oreck on your behalf and they are unable to provide any assistance with the wiring of their motors due to hazards. You may purchase a new motor online and the new motors will come with wiring guides. I'm sorry that we could not help you much in this situation. Have a wonderful day!

If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Who did you purchase the motor from?

  • Evan Benson
    Evan Benson Apr 29, 2009

You can contact there offices by clicking here.

In the email explain to them that you need to request a wiring diagram guide. They are issued them by Oreck. The guides are not available for public viewing however. Have a great day!

Here's a blurb from another solution. I doubt you'll be able to get one. I hope this helps. I'm not sure why you need it.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG THEIR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The motor has 5 wires to the motor as stated in the Oreck owners manual, tow are for the headlights, one is a ground wire, and the other two are for the motor. There are two screws that hold in the Oreck motor and a good suggestion is to use tape the wires leads and mark the wires so that you will not make a mistake as you take it apart and reassemble the motor. That way you will not make any mistakes, whether or not you have wires for a headlight or not, the rules are the same. Also refer to the owner’s manual schematic and the exploded view. Wiring schematic oreck xl2600hh

I have a Oreck XL and the propeller that is in the housing will become hard for the moter to turn. I have took it apart and do not see a problem, but when I reinstall the parts it will run for about 15 sec. and the moter will stop turning. When the propeller housing is off the motor turns ok and doesn't stop. Do I need a new propeller/housing?

Wiring Schematices

I had the same problem after not paying attention to the connections when replacing my motor. I spent days searching for information and only found several non-answers with small photos that no one can read.I contacted Oreck for wiring information. They explicitly stated that they can't provide any wiring information for safety and liability reasons.

I found the Ametek schematic which shows the LINE and TAP locations on the motor.

Note: I have a 2600HH XL with 2 headlights.

Connect as follows:

3A, LINE: White lead w/piggy back terminal from light harness #1 & white lead from the power harness to the piggy back terminal
2A, TAP: Black lead from light harness #1
3B, LINE: White lead w/piggy back terminal from light harness #2 & black lead from the power harness
2B, TAP: Black lead from light harness #2
