I have a lawn boy gcv. 160 gold engine 108-7529, will not start

Does this unit have an electronic fuel shutoff on the bottom of the carburetor?... If so, that is your problem. Otherwise, you will need to remove the carburetor, service it..

If u want test it first... Spray some carburetor cleaner into the plug hole then reinstall the plug. Start the engine, if it runs for a few seconds, u definitely have a fuel issue, carb....

U can buy a rebuild kit for the carburetor.

Also, go to you tube and search, how to service a 4 cycle carburetor..many videos to learn how...

its not going to matter if the seal is leaking damage alreay done to it run it till it stops or lockes up

The battery may be weak. Try charging with a bettery charger. Also check to make sure that the battery terminals are clean and tight.

sounds like there is a valve hanging up inside the pump

If you replaced the plug and still dont have any spark you probably need a new coil. If you do it yourself and find the coil on Ebay or a good onliine parts seller you could do it for a reasonable price.

does it blow blue smoke= sounds like over fueling, so you need to get the carby a service.

if not blowing smoke= *sounds like over heating. check to see if the cooling vents on the side of the engine are blocked eg wasps nests. if it has a radiator, check the water level and then look along the front and back to see if it is blocked with grass. if so blow out with hose or air blower.
