Modem device high definition audio

Make sure your modem is loaded properly even tho you dont use the antiquated device just do it cuz you audio hardware may just be built into it.

You can go at the support site and download the particular drivers.

Maybe it's an driver installation order problem, the system needs the audio drivers installed prior to the modem since I believe they are both on the High Definition Bus. Here is Dell's official install order for the D620 with integrated Intel graphics...


1. Install the Dell Notebook System Software on a Dell Portable system from the Drivers, Utilities and Applications CD.
2. Install the Intel® Mobile Chipset Driver.
3. Install the SigmaTel STAC92xx Audio Driver.
4. Install the Alps GlidePoint/StickPointer Driver on Your Dell Portable System
5. Install the Conexant D110 MDC 1.5 v.92 modem driver.
6. Install the Intel® 945GM/945PM video driver in Microsft® Windows® operating systems.
7. Install the Broadcom 57xx Gigabit Integrated Controller Driver
8. Install the Dell™ Wireless 350 Bluetooth® driver in Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.
9. Install the wireless network adapter in a Latitude D-series portable computer.
10. Install the O2Micro OZ601 Cardbus Controller in Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.

Have a look under the "Network" tab and look for the driver you need.

You can download the drivers from the link below. Just enter your OS and then choose the audio driver you need. It would also be a good idea to download and update the latest BIOSflash.

go to support.dell.com, choose drivers and downloads, then type in the service tag of your dell laptop. you can find that number on a sticker at the bottom of your laptop. then you will have all the drivers for your laptop. download and install the modem driver.
