Samsung DLP HL-P5063W

When I turn on the TV, the lamp led flashes for 30-45 seconds, I get audio for 30 to 60 seconds and then video for perhaps 5 to 10 seconds before the entire unit shuts down. After the TV shuts off, the standby/temp and lamp lights flash on for 6 seconds and off for 6 seconds repeatedly until I unplug the unit and start the process again. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue. i can't recall how i got it fixed last time, i just remember unplugging and hitting all the buttons and then it came back on. this makes me want to go buy japanese and not korean. reading a lot of blogs, don't call samsung, they either don't understand or will deny it's their fault.

We had the same problem starting around the same time as you. Would turn on about 50% of the time. Unplugging when it would not solved the problem about 50% of the time. Thus, 25% of teh time it just would not work. Replaced the bulb, still no luck. Had a repairman come out -- he swapped out a couple components without success and concluded it was the light engine which would cost $925 to replace. That money went instead to a new Sony rathe rthan to fix this obsolete piece of junk. If anyone has a cheap solution I'd still like to hear it so I can use it as a guest room set, but I'm not optimistic.

You have the same problem I have. The problem is fixed by changing the new light bulb. The problem appears again after 1500 hours of use. You can keep buying new light bulbs or avoid it by not buying another Samsung TV.

I just replaced the lamp on my samsung HL-P5063W (DLP TV)...now the TV will not turn on (no picture...but I do get sound)...when I plug it in, it automatically starts to power on...then it starts making...

Sounds like a bad color wheel. Generally when the color wheel goes bad, when you try and turn the TV on the lamp will ignite for a couple seconds and then turn off. It also makes a rather high pitch squealing noise.

www.Partstore.com should carry a replacement color wheel for your TV

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

Remove the rear cover and check the lamp cover switch. Earlier versions used a black plastic switch holder that may break due to improper assembly. The part number for the holder is BP61-01240A. Newer versions use a metal tab attached to the engine. In this case, improper assembly may cause the lamp cover switch to be extended past its range, either breaking the switch or causing it to have an open contact. Replace the switch with BP91-01231A.

Note that in these models, when reinstalling the rear cover, it is best to remove the lamp cover first, install the rear cover, then install the lamp cover. This will make sure that the lamp switch is properly engaged.

Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

You will need to have it diagnosed if you do not have the service manual, or the knowledge of how these circuits work. I can tell you to replace this or that but it would be a guess! You need to start measuring the voltages on the ballast circuit, as I have seen door switches, fan sensors, heat sensors cause all of your symptoms as well. Good Luck
