Ok...the situation as now gone to not heating at all...it strips the clock and when reset it continue to trip...will not start up and heat...looks too like it might be the magnetron now that nothing works...thanks in advance

So,my brilliant step son found a workable solution....on another site he discovered that the anti static film used to wrap computer hard drives etc provides a shield from what an engineer discovered was leaking RF from the magnetron...and it works..running fine as we speak..

Are you saying that the oven seems to shut off while cooking? Does it also happen if you cook at full power? This may be a bad connection on the controller (which we repair) or a failing magnetron. Please give usd a little more detail so we can follow up.

How do I turn off defrost on a sensor microwave oven?

  1. Press the "Cancel" or "Stop" button on the microwave oven to stop the current defrost cycle.
  2. Look for a "Defrost" button on the control panel of the microwave oven.
  3. Press the "Defrost" button again to turn it off.
  4. If your microwave oven has a "Sensor" button, press it and select another cooking function like "Popcorn," "Reheat," or "Beverage."
  5. If the above steps don't work, consult the user manual of your microwave oven or contact the manufacturer's customer service for assistance.
Note: Turning off defrost on a sensor microwave oven may vary depending on the model and brand of the appliance.

Cant plug in microwave. Everytime i do it trips GFI outlet. Same story for all outlets in kitchen. Plug in anything else and it works fine.

Hi
It sounds there is current leakage within the oven, causing your safety switch to trip.
It would be best to have a professional check your oven.

Pushing the start button trips the breaker. All functions seems to work, fan, clock etc but it just started as soon as you push start it trips the breaker. Control panel/board seems fine no burn marks.

In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. or a fault that is shutting the system down for safety reasons You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.
Service manual below, troubleshoot with that. http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/5734/PANASONIC_NN-K652.html

the door protection circuit needs attention, the door catches operate microswitches, but there is also a third which is a crowbar microswitch. if all three do not operate in the correct sequence then the safety switch or fuse will go.

Breaker tripping

Make sure it is plugged into a 20 amp circuit. If it is in a kitchen it should be a 20amp breaker if it trips a 20 amp breaker it needs to be replaced. If it is a new house and you plug it in in the kitchen and it trips a 15 amp breaker then the house does not meet code. ref Article 210.52(B)(1) NEC

Microwave blows fuse

The most common suspects are the high voltage transformer and the magnetron. It's also possible you have a flaky door switch or loose door switch mount. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
