Although I previously posted with the same problem of a film on the dishes after cleaning, I did find a section in the owner's manual which solved my problem. Lift up the rinse aid cap on the inside door - the factory setting is on "4". The rinse aid works in conjunction with your local water, which has variations in it's hardness or softness. When your dishes are streaky, lower the rinse aid setting to 1 or 2. If your dishes are spotted, raise the rinse aid setting higher.
I have the same dishwasher and had the same problem. Add a cup full of vineger overnight in the dishwashe and let it sit. The next wash wil have your dishes sparkling clean.!!!!
We were told by Bosch to not use lemon scent. Use the original generic soap with NO sprakle or smell because the jet dry does the rest. Just let the soap be soap. Hopes this helps.

ACTUALLY WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM DIFFERANT TIMES,WE FOUND THAT THE ROTATING ARM WAS PREVENTED FROM GOING AROUND BY AN OBSTICLE IN THE DISHWASHER SUCH AS A PLASTIC SERVING SPOON STANDING UP IN THE SILVERWARE TRAY, TRY LAYING IT DOWN IN THE UPPER RACK
Everything has film on it...glassware, dishes, etc and stainless steel. Can't tell if soap door is opening or not. Rinse dry is full. Is running white vinegar through machine a good way to clean it and remove the film on stainless inside?
It doesn't clean anything. I run an infant daycare and I need the bottles, nipples, pacifiers etc., to be VERY clean and sterilized. Heck, I can't even get regular drinking glasses clean. Part of that problem comes from the fact that you cannot lower the top rack. But the silverware is NEVER clean, so you wonder if the damn thing is getting anything else clean, nevermind the water spots on every single glass whether I use Jet-Dry or not. I have tried powdered detergents, I've also tried gels (which I read were not a good idea because it causes problems with build-up of gunk in the pipes) but I've tried everything I can think of. NOTHING GETS CLEAN. It worked fine for about the first month I had it and for the past year and a half, I've had to wash the dishes by hand before I wash them in the Bosch dishwasher. It's a piece of junk compared to the old Maytag I had before. And we paid a lot of money for this hunk of junk, too, I might add.
Next DW I get is going to be a double drawer Fischer. Yessirrreee.
If someone from the Bosch company wants to help me out here, I'd be glad of it because I've tried everything I can think of ... and then some.
My new Bosch, purchased in 2008, consistently leaves residue on the glasses. If I fill a glass with water after it has been cleaned by the DW, there are soapy bubbles in the water. If I rinse it out first with tap water, there are no bubbles when I fill my glass.
I have the same dishwasher and the same problem. It did work well for about two years, then started leaving film on everything. BTW, I use the Cascade recommended by the manufacturer as well as Jet Dry. I cleaned the filter and nothing improved. Now, I wash the dishes by hand and let them dry in the dishwasher. There is something wrong with this machine. Also occasionally, the d/w does not drain at the end of the cycle. We checked the lines, etc. and they were not kinked and the filter/drain was not plugged. Go figure.
I have a 4 year old Bosch dishwasher just spent $250 on replacing soap holder and bottom rack slats the door and inside all have this scum on it the repai man said it was hard water I have never had this problem with any other dishwashetr I have owned. I have tried stainless steel polish the sum transfers to the glassess and flatware and I have to rewahs everything after using the dishwasher I want to contact Bosch my dishwasher is 4 years old. Its really frustrating me any one who knows how to solve this would be a life saver thanx CindY,Burbank, California.I think my Brand number is a different one.
