Black and decker grass hog electric weed eater won't feed string

Does it have a head release that you need to tap on the ground while it is running. That is how most of them work.

The red light means it needs charging - some will come on while it is charging - but it should be green when fully charged.

Wind the strings in the direction of the arrow on the spool.

Probably wound backwards. Follow the arrow on the spool for both. Both SAME rotation.

I think your problem is the little plastic ( white ) lever ( part# 598435-00 ) on the inside of the housing that holds the spool. Mine was working fine and then it just stopped feeding line altogether. I would order a couple (3-4) so you have them in stock. Looks like a part that will wear out fast. I wish they still sold a bump type weed eater. Hope that helps.
