Whenever turn on my camera (Kodak z2175), it asks me to reset the date, which I do. Then it just freezes. I've replaced the 1.2V batteries with 1.5V, it's still doing it. Any suggestions would be helpful.

SOURCE: Kodak Z700 not firing up

Guest is right. Clean the contacts, bend the contacts with a small flat head screw driver upwards "GENTLY". This should work. Might have to repeat every couple of months. Forget regular batteries. Use the rechargeable ones. MUST be fully recharged.

My camera won't keep the date and time. each time it is turned on it asks to be reset. is there a battery to retain the date??

There is a special battery that keeps the date and time running, but it can be replaced only by a technician (it's soldered on a board). You will have to give it to a Kodak authorized service center.

Kodak m1033 cameraturns on shows date and time have been reset camera buttons and controls do not function

Ii understand your problem description as the camera turns off immidietly after having shown the date and time.

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

When turned on I get a red light and a msg that says date and time reset but it won't do anything M863 Kodak

If the camera still remains on after asking for the date and time. Sounds like there is a firmware issue w. the camera. However KODAK doesn't provide a firmware update on the website.

So you will have to send the camera in in order to solve the issue.

However if the camera turns off:

My Kodak Easy Share camera keeps turning off

I cannot help you but I have another problem which I want to tell to the world.
My camera is OK but it does not work on Klik 8000 accu's.

Every time I change the battery I have to reset date and time, but further without problems.
Please ask Kodak torepair your new camera.

My cam(sony dsc h7) ask for time whenever battery is inserted

Inside the camera is a button battery used for storing settings. It most likely is dead. It takes soldering to remove it.
