SOURCE: message stating install MK

You have done more than 300,000 pages. I wouldnt waste your money on a Maint Kit, just stretch it out by doing the following.

Press Menu/Ok (Main menu)
Go into [>>Service]
Then press the right arrow.
Then find [>> Maintenance]
Press the ok key, then it will show [>> Maintenance?]
Press the ok key twice, and it will reset all the counts on your consumable components (Drum, Developer, Transfer Roller, ETC)

The black toner needs replacing but I can't get to it. The Cyan toner is at the front and I can't move it round to get to the black! It's an Epson Aculaser C1100

there maybe a cartridge replacement button to drag the print head etc out of the way so you can get at the cartridges.

I hope this was helpful

Cant change ink cartridge - says needs mk toner,

I struggled with this and it sent me nearly mad. Epson need their heads read for not giving the instructions either on the toner box or inside the printer. What customer care? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has felt like putting a sledge hammer through the ******* thing.

The other answer on this Fixya site says use the printer driver. That's not right for my computer. There is nothing on the driver about it.

To get the correct toner cartridge to face you when you open the front door... use the menu screen on the printer itself and the 4 buttons that are in a wheel shape. By default you are in the Information menu. Scroll down to Reset menu, using the bottom button. Press the right button (with the return arrow) to select this menu. The first visible option is 'Clear warning' which is a useful one to get rid of the endless warnings! But instead of selecting that, scroll down through this Reset menu until you come to 'Change Toner C', which is followed by M then K then Y.

In case you're wondering which is which - they are confusingly not in the same order as the colours on the printer. Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), K Black, Y Yellow.

Hope this saved the sledge hammer, and hope Epson one day think...

Epson Aculaser C1100 erro message install C tnrcart

You need to remove the cyan cartridge, and thoroughly clean the inside of the printer (please use proper printer cleaning kit, not a damp cloth!). The sensors can get crudded up with loose toner inside the machine.

How to change cartdridge for other color???

If you wait until the colour has completely run out, you will see a message to that effect, and the correct cartride will be presented. If you wish to change before this:

1. On the printers' control panel, press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once and then the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see the RESET MENU.
2. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once.
3. Press the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see "CHANGE TONER X" appear on the screen (where X is either C, M, Y or K, Cyan. Magenta, Yellow or Black).
4. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once. The printer will rotate the toner carousel to the correct position for you to change.
5. Open the printer door and change the toner as normal.

Black Toner replaced

Replace Toner with gen cartridge.

Or Take cartridge back as faulty after checking that it was opened and installed correctly.

Check display on printer for indications that maybe it needs one of the 3 colour toners indicators are Y,C or M

K is black

Epson c1100

Yes, they do make this model, I'm using one now. I had the same problem

The solution for me was to clean inside of printer thoroughly, with the C (or whatever) cartridge removed. The sensors get dirty.
