I'm going to quote dsteele04 on this one (he is a user of this site).
1. Switch the GT*RATE SET button to RATE SET.
2. Press the date/clock button to display current time.
3. Enter time wanted using military time. 4:52 p.m would be entered as
16.52 (Note the 16 is followed by . then enter the 52. (ie. 10:45 a.m.
would be entered as 10.45)
4. Press the date/clock button again to enter new time.
Just reset mine and is current. If the built in battery needs changed,
access panel is on the back. It uses a watch type battery.

On page 16 it explains two ways to set date & Time.
1st is when you turn on the power it will ask you to set the time & date, and you can enter it.
2nd way to set time & date, or change it is to press the MENU key, and select "Set Date & Time".

The date/time is in Setup 1 (the wrench icon in the middle). Scroll down to Date & Time, then click the right side of the wheel button to set the date and time.

For Date:
Put Calculator on RATE SET
Press Time/date key: enter the date using a decimal between the month, day and year (all 4 digits) please the date/time button. It should reset. (Exmple: 01.16.2009)
For time:
Leave Calculator on RATE SET
Press Time/Date key until time shows up. just like date, press the hour then the decimal then the minute. (Example if the time is 10:15 you enter 10 . 15) Press the Time/Date Key and the time is set.

Please change the Leithium battery fixed inside your fax machine, usually this the problem.
If the Date time is running in different date & time.
Please press Menu, then scrolle left of right arrow key. When you find set Date/Time enter the key mentioned in the Display key and change to your date & time.
After some time see if the date/time working normally. If not change the above mentioned battery.
