You should not remove it. you can weaken the structure of the tv frame..there will be inspection holes in the side use a feather duster to clean it out.

Testimonial: "There are no inspection holes on the sides."

SOURCE: I need to clean mirror

Most rear projection sets the screen will pop off the front. Usually a couple of hidden catches. Get another person for this.
Once off you can clean the mirror but not the inside of the screen.
Unplug tv first

On my 1999 grand caravan the panel lights are out, as well as license plate light and running lights (front and back), yet the turn signals work as do the brake lights. All fuses I can find look ok. ...

It sounds like you have a bad connection where the plastic surround connects to the lighting switches. That piece from the central console to ring the upper part of the dash has to be removed and use electrical contact cleaner and plug them back in. There are three different connectors on the extreme left side of this plastic surround. Start by removing the plastic shroud under the steering column, unscrew the plastic shroud at the parking brake and then start on the upper hard plastic surround from the center console and remove the screw next to the grill adjacent the door (driver's side). Once the screws are removed, the hard plastic piece just pops out. (Remember, to remove the screws on the cover over the steering wheel; 2 to 4 screws as I remember... it also pops out in an upward direction. (Check any electrical relays as well.)

Can we seperate the tv from the speaker to transposrt it up stairs?

You should be able to take the screen off and the top black plastic shroud that holds the mirror off to transport it.

1) To do this, you will pull the speaker grill cover off on the front bottom.
2) I think there are four screws at the bottom of the screen holding the bottom in place. Use a 1/4" socket.
3) Disconnect the wire harness going to the screen by squeezing the tab on the connector - very easy to do.

4) Remove all the screws on the black plastic shroud - about 8 of them. Have someone hold your screen and gently lift the screen off. The black shroud I think still has some screws holding it in place that become visible once you lift the screen off.

5) Once the screen is off, there should be a set of screws that are holding the shroud down. Remove those and gently put the shroud on the floor where the mirror cannot get damaged.

6) Installation is reverse of the above.

Note: This would be a good time to clean the mirror and tops of the CRT bulbs. It will make your picture much nicer if it hasn't been done. Use a non streaking glass cleaner on the mirror and bulbs. For the screen, just wipe it down, don't spray it with glass cleaner.

CAN I CLEAN THE MIRROR ON MY HTACHI 43FDXOIB TV

With the set unplugged remove the back cover of the set.

Next remove all the screws on the entire large plastic shroud that is black in color; you will notice hand holds to lift it free and the mirror is attached to the inner side.

l usually use paper towels and glass cleaner to clean it and also clean the three large black plastic lens in front of it. It either is dirty or grimy the picture will be affected.

Carefully replace the mirror/shroud unit and put all the screws back that secure it.

Replace the back cover and see what it looks like. There is no access from the front of the set to do this.

How do I take the front screen off to clean the bugs out? Philips 60PP9100D-37 60" Widescreen Projection TV

First: do not take front screen off for cleaning--easy way is to remove entire black plastic shroud (you look at back of set and you will see 2 silver pegs near top edge) This set uses torks type screws---you need to remove several and the entire upper plastic in back comes off. The mirror is suspended separate from this. With the shroud removed you can clean the lens of the 3 picture tubes or any debris on the inside of the screen----do not use glass cleaner on the screen; but if you have smudges or bugs on the inside just use a very fine soft cloth(you may need to moisten it slightly) Any mark you make will show! If you find you have spider webs use a swiffer type duster to remove them.

I do this here for free so if this was helpful give me a vote here. If you have questions or need help let me know.

Cleaning cobwebs from philips rear projection tv model 51PW9363/1

I had the exact same problem and the fix is easy to do. Unplug the TV first of all and wheel it out so you can easily get to all of the rear screws.

  1. Remove the screws from the ventilated back panel (the piece of wood with a bunch of holes in it surrounding the AV connection panel.
  2. Remove the wood panel you just unscrewed.
  3. Remove all screws from the upper plastic case on the back.
  4. Remove the back plastic case carefully. This is a little tricky due to two metal pins that it hangs on. Lift it upwards and you should be able to free it from these pins
  5. At this point you should be able to see the entire workings of the TV, and consequently the massive amount of dust that has accumulated.
  6. Carefully take a vacuum and remove all the cobwebs, taking care not to bump the mirror or the lenses.
  7. First, I used some compressed air to clean off the lenses and then used a clean microfiber towel to remove all the dust from the lenses, the mirror, and the screen on the inside. Make sure the part you are wiping the mirror and lenses off with is free from any dust or dirt or you will risk scratching them.
  8. Reverse the dissasembly process to put the case back together.
  9. I went through the convergance settings at this point and found that they were all out of calibration and as such recalibrated them. Use the mulitpoint calibration for best results.
  10. Enjoy a much cleaner brighter TV!

Cobwebs behind the screen of a 55" projection screen. How do I remove screen to clean the TV? I have a Mitisubishi WS-55809.

Hello morsec,

You will need to remove the screws on the back of the top half of the TV set. This will allow you to remove the top rear half of the TV and give you access to the screen. Make sure you do not break the mirror that is attached to the rear of the TV set. Clean the screen with a damp non-abrasive cloth dry with a dry non-abrasive cloth. When finish replace the back of the TV and tighten the screws to hand tightness.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
