First here is the link to a good suuplier with OEM parts for 110 and 220 volt http://www.appliancezone.com/SearchProducts.aspx?ID=9707627&x=12&y=7
you can change any KA mixer from 110 to 220 and 220 to 110, you need the armature stato phase control board and speed swith for eith conversion, the 220 madel number or 220 model has a letter in front of the ka which is the indicator for 220 volt go to http://www.kitchenaid.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OCManualsLiteratureSearchResultView?catalogId=10552&langId=-1&storeId=10202 for a exploded parts list and part numbers look any where for a KA 220 volt model and you can find the same thing
First never do that again. Second yes you can fix it. you will need to order an armature a speed control switch and a phase board for a 110 volt mixer. or you could order the same parts for 220 volt effectively making it a 220 volt mixer and change it back when you return state side. Your cost for parts will be around 150.00 USD plus shipping. The project will take about two hours to do. Let me know if you want to proceed, I can send you to a site with a tear down manual and the parts a readily available on the internet.
Could you post the link to the site with the tear down manual? Also my 110 volt KSM150PSER KitchenAid mixer was by mistake connected to 220 volt. I would be interested restoring the mixer to a 220 volt model. Which parts would I need to exchange?
Thank you very much for the quick and good advice!

Kitchenaid mixers are not recommended on the use of a converter as they are not tested under such conditions. Understanding this, using a convertor on your mixer may automatically void the 1 year warranty regardless of age.
There are international Kitchenaid dealers available if you are requiring 110V. You may contacted Kitchenaid Customer Service for more information.
Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.

go to a technician and have the motor rewinded again. because your machine encountered a short circuit so the motor needs to have a new rewind. Hope the other parts are not affected.
