Flash from the back of the washing machine.

Hi
We were having problems with a noise when our washing machine was spinning, ( thought it might a bearing or belt problem ). Took the back off the machine and turned the machine on to check, machine started letting in the water, then stopped and wouldn't go any further. Changed wash cycle to spin mode, then a flash came from the back the machine near the drum and won't go at all now. Any help would be welcome. Machine is a Bosch 1200 classixx express (WAE 2416).     Thanks for replying to my problem, jnr. Can you tell me if i would still get power to the machine, if it was the brushes, as at the moment the LED display is not lit and it appears that there is no power at all. I have checked the plug fuse. Thanks Alan.

    i have the similar prob. While washing, the machine stops and then no power at all. Tried changing the fuse but still no power. The LED screen seems died.

It sounds like the brushes have gone in the motor that turns the drum

Those 6 springs are pretty tough to get back on there without the special tool
other than that it all goes back pretty easy.

sounds like you are dealing with the same problem as me .
take off the front panel (after unplugging power) take a flash lite and look at the large pulley at the back just below the pulley is the helix check to see if they are worn .

hi,
looks like there is some friction between the main and outer tub of your machine. there is generally a mechanism for smooth spinning of the machine in good rpms for wash-spin cycle. this could be because of rust formation, or mud collection. please refer your manual and remove the 3 screws behind the lower front plastic cover, and look for rust formation. scrape the rust and try spinning again.
