I lost my charger for my kodak m763 camera. I bought a generic one off ebay that said it was compatible in every way with my battery and model # camera. I got it in the mail and attempted to charge it. Once fully charged, I put it back in my camera to turn it on but it never did. I let it sit for a few mintues and the camera and the battery itself began to heat up for some reason. What is the cause of this and how can it be fixed?
Sounds like your cheap-o generic charger has overcharged or fried your battery. Don't put it back in your camera. Buy cheap, get cheaped. :( Go to; www.kodak.com You need a new battery; KLIC-7001 and a universal charger; Li-Lon Universal Battery Charger K7600-C, it's about $35, the Batt is about $30 but it is worth the money to have something that works and a camera that you can now use.
Another question...i have the same camera and the same problem but used the original charger.....i understand that the battery is done....but is the camera ok? it heated up alot. i don't want to buy a battery to find out that the camera is done too.
