SOURCE: Nikon D200 Water Damadged

It can be repaired, but usually water-damaged cameras are either worthless or VERY expensive to repair. I should expect that yours is destroyed, since Nikon's D200 is not designed to be waterproof, and has many electronic and steel parts which are very susceptible to being destroyed by the infiltration of water. A good camera shop would give you an estimate for no charge. If they tell you that it is beyond repair, you might take it to another shop for a second opinion. Is it possible for you to claim the damage on any insurance? You might check with your insurance agent just to be sure.

SOURCE: nikon 18-200 mm vr lens not auto focusing on my nikon d200

lets start with the basics, try hard reseting it and try again, if that doesnt work then
try upgrading your firmware (if possible on your camera) and if that doesnt work then it may be the lens, but dont forget to spend a few hours trying to find a option for it in the meny

Does your lens have a diafragm ring? Set this one to the maximum, for instance 22. Maybe this will solve your problem.

PG UP error message

Did you change the USB settings in order to get the firmware on the memory card? if so, try to set it back.
If anything went wrong with the update process, like wrong memory card, touched a button while the update was running switched off or removed a cable. and and and. The camera can become damaged, or unusable. Nikon gives the advice to go to a Nikon service centre with the camera.

PG UP ERROR IN NIKON D 200 CAMERA

Is this a D80 or a D200?

If you had a failure during firmware upgrade, then your circuit board is trashed. Send it to Nikon - it requires software to replace.

My nikon D200 shows CHA whenever I insert a CF card? How can I fix it? It shows that error even I use a different card.

Dear Sir e_jamandre, probably the connector memory card has one or more bent pins or cracked solder.
The worst thing would be that the memory compression circuit is damaged.

I can't tell the diff between VR and VR OFF with my Nikon 18-200 lens. Is there a foolproof way to tell if VR is functional?

Charles, I can save you the effort. The D200 lacks the menu item I suggested and will not show any symbols in the viewfinder or LCD to indicate which VR setting you have the lens set to.

But Ken Rockwell's guide to the lens has a big clue: VR takes a moment to stabilise, so you ideally need to half press the shutter release and wait a second or so before firing the shutter.

I don't want to plagiarise his excellent article, so instead suggest that you click here to read what the man has to say himself. He discusses the benefits of your lenses VR early in the article, but you may want to skip right down the page to the heading, "How to use the VR".

Ken has also created an excellent alternative D200 users' guide, click here.

Good luck, and please take a moment to rate my reply.

P.S. If the hotlinks don't work then the 18-200 lens review is at:-

http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200/18200-vr.htm

and the D200 guide is at:-

Can not format card for Nikon d200

Is you camera plugged into you computer. If so, you cannot format the card from the camera, unless it is unplugged. This just happened to me (I was about to look for a bent pin). Unplugging solved the problem.
