A few days ago I took my kids to a restaurant that had a ball pit and now they're starting to complain that they are feeling sick. Is it possible that they could have caught something from the ball pit?

Typically, you're contagious from 1 day before you have any symptoms. You stay that way for 5 to 7 days after you start feeling sick. Kids and people may be able to spread the virus for even longer, until all of their symptoms fade. Most of the time, it's through droplets in the air.

There are commercial companies like Goldstar that specialize in ball pit sanitization or you can invest in a ball pit cleaning machine. If you have an institution with a ball pit you should make sure to clean the balls daily, or at least once every 3-5 days.

I was told by a vet that often if they are sick or in pain they will associate the pain with the litterbox and thus avoid it.

She could be in pain or sick so I would definitely take her to the vet to eliminate anything medical as the cause.

If everything checks out at the vet, they may be able to give you some additional pointers as to why the cats behavior has changed.

It's not easy for anyone to claim that Ball Pits are definitely safe. There are can be potential games in many kids toys and games.
Ball Pits are great fun for kids but you should be aware of the following risks:
1. Ball Pits can be filled deeply with balls and so you can't see the bottom. if there are any sharp objects etc at the bottom, there is a risk you will miss them.
2. Its hard to clean Ball Pits and if you are in a public play area, it's possible that the Ball Pit might be a haven for bacteria.
3. There is a risk of injury as kids tend to jump really high into ball pits and arent' always sure where they will land.

A ball pit is a padded pit (usually square or rectangular) that is filled with hollow plastic balls. The aim is for kids to have fun jumping inside the pit without any worry of getting hurt.
A lot of gymboree type places have large ball pits.

Does the motor run? If the answer is no check the door switch. If yes then check the thermostats and thermal fuse.

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.
