Minn kota enduro only works in reverse? No forward speed works

SOURCE: is a minn kota mag 36 just 12V or 12V -24V run

I believe the Mag 36 is a 12v and the Mag 40 is a 24v......Ive been doin a little research and cant find anything that points to a 12 and 24v system.....

max is 56amps on 24v system

call 800 number for minn kota on your motor. they are very helpful and will fax or emial you a manual for the motor. good luck.

SOURCE: My Johnson Escape boat w/ Minn Kota engine stopped running

I've had the same problem. It steams from the control panel. I took and ran a seprate ground wire directly to the motor. This is simple to do and takes 15 minutes. Starting in the battery compartment feed cable into the split-loom and continue feeding until reaching the control panel. Pull an extra 5 foot of cable and open dry hatch in rear by motor feed cable around and out to motor connections., Good time to replace rotary switch and circuit breaker. These also are trouble-some parts.

If the repair was done under warranty, then that repair is still under warranty as it wasn't fixed.

If you want to do it yourself, you would have to strip to find where the noise comes from and then rebuild with plenty of Lithium Grease.

Minn kota trolling motor has forward but no reverse
Don't know what Minn Kota you are talking abut but my 55 pound Thrust one does NOT have a Reverse.... When I want reverse I swing the Prop all the way around so it is pulling the boat backwards..... I just checked it to refresh my memory......

The motor has two speeds. Very fast forward and very fast reverse. The speed control is not functioning
A lot of these units have 2 year warranty. Minn Kota web site list authorized warranty repair centers. The foot control unit most likely got water in the digital switch. If not under warranty any longer, open it up and see if any water bubbles in the sealed board where speed switch makes contact. If so you will need new foot control.

Check the Relay's these will be found in the control module, Most likely totaly sealed, test or replacement may be required

I just got a minn kota endura 55 and all the forward speeds work but none of the reverse speeds work - were can I get wire diagram or manual or just help to fix this

This is the web page for this type of trolling motor. Sounds like they have a good warranty. I would suggest contacting them. If you have forward but no reverse then one of the switches isn't working right and tearing it apart yourself may void the warranty.

Minn Kota tolling motor
Reverse the polarity on the trolling motor by taking the trolling motor apart and turning ithe motor housingt 180 degrees and bolt it back up. The polarity will be straight then. I did the same thing when I pulled the armature back in.
