I have a GE model 28112 phone, which includes answering machine. I have the built-in answering machine turned off b/c I use the voicemail service from my phone provider (Comcast). I received a message today, and my phone is now blinking that I have a message. Unfortunately, I have since checked and deleted the message, but the indicator light on my phone continues to blinnk as though I have a message. I have tried unplugging the phone, etc to reset it - to no avail. I have looked in the user manual and couldn't find any solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Could one of you owners of this model 28112EE2-A please send me the mail to address for phone repair. I have lost my address and need to send phones out for service,.

Leave a message, check it, delete it. the indicator goes off. had the same problem and this solved it.
I had this problem too. I removed the voice messages from my service and the noise stopped. But, I'm sure you want a long term answer. Me too.
I also had this problem. I have my phone thru Charter. It seems that you may need to call your telephone support (Comcast or whoever) and set up your service for voicemail. You may need to make up a pin number for this. I called Charter telephone service and the guy walked me thru the steps I needed to get set up..
This solved the problem for me.
