I have a toshiba l775d-s7340 laptop and i had to buy a new battery for it. The led for the battery turns orange the second i install the new battery and the computer WILL NOT turn on. i keep reading where toshiba computers won't allow 3rd party batteries but now i can't find where i can download "bios" to allow my battery to work? i know nothing about these bios and don't know what to do. this is the 4th battery i have tried and it's really getting old. this has been the fastest and most reliable computer until the battery went bad. is there anyway i can get 1 of the 2 remaining batteries i kept to work?
I forgot to mention that my computer runs just find with old battery in and while plugged in. it's just when i put a new battery in the computer just simply will not start up and LED blinks orange instead of just being a solid whiteI forgot to mention that my computer runs just find with old battery in and while plugged in. it's just when i put a new battery in the computer just simply will not start up and LED blinks orange instead of just being a solid white

The battery is most likely shot, there is a sensor in the battery pack that wont let it charge or come on when the battery is bad. You can order a new battery for it.
Remove battery. Maybe faulty? Try another cord/charger with the EXACT same specs. Reseat the Memory Mods. has the AC jack been damaged by pulling on the cord? Try plug in and at the laptop's AC jack "wiggle" the AC jack plug. Any change?
if you have warranty pls send it to service center you can quickly resolve the problem, if not pls check without battery and remove other parts and try
I would think that the internal battery connections have been damaged from the fall. They may only need re-soldering. Any drop on to a hard surface from almost any height can damage your laptop.
When you don't have the laptop battery plugged in, the power routes directly to the mainboard of the laptop. When the battery IS plugged in, it reroutes to the battery, then the battery powers the mainboard and charges at the same time.
It's likely that the route between either the power board and the battery or the battery and the mainboard is broken somehow. To fix it, you would need it professional stripped down and some soldering may be required and perhaps new parts such as capacitors.
To get someone else to do this would prove quite expensive. Might be worth checking up on your laptop warranty or considering the worth of your current laptop against the cost of a new laptop.
