I have a hummingbird matrix 67 gps chartplotter fish finder. It developed a problem with the screen. The outer edges are legible, but the center is damaged. Is it worth repairing. Are there any other common problems with this unit?

Hummingbird will refurbish that one for around 150US dollars, better then 500+ for a new one. If the screen is subjected to direct sunlight and heats up it can go out. This is why they discontinued the 67 model and replaced it with the 767.

My 161 gps hummingbird isnt picking up gps. do i need to buy an antena or something?

It should work right out of the box. It may have trouble picking up satellites, especially if you are testing it inside your house. A lower-end unit like this isn't going to have as powerful an antenna as more expensive models, so be sure you are outside, with a clear path to outer space and it should work!

Hope this helps.

I cannot get a clear high definition picture on my gps. also no fish symbols on sonar. low voltage message keeps appearing on screen. any help would really be appreciated.

sounds like you might not be getting a full 12 volts DC to the unit. check the voltage with a volt meter,, and also check to make sure that your battery/batteries are in top shape and charging properly. ( one bad battery in a bank of many can cause voltage issues ).
