Had the same issue on 2002 c320 . look at the fuse chart ,find out the fuse # that operate the radio and the cigarette lighter , you have three fuse boxes, engine compartment, driver left knee and trunk on left .find the fuse b compairing the char to the box , replace the fuse . DONE
The radio and lighter are on the same cig lighter fuse located in the fuse box at the left lower dash, it may be under a plastic cover, the fuse locations are marked on the cover.
there is a short too ground in the power side of that circuit common cause in cig lighters because there is power and ground so close together is something stuck in one of them shorting out the circiut check in all of them make sure its clear if thats not it you need too get the wireing diagram and start from power source till you reach the load looking for damaged wires touching metel this can be complicated
did you try to bend the tabs in the socket with the power on using a metal screwdriver???
There must be a fuse, or it cannot have worked!
Check you are reading the fuse diagram the right way up, its easy to not realise its different from the view of the fuses, german cars are prone to this!
on the inside of the cover of the fuse box, it should tell you which ones they are or in the owner's manual it will definately have a diagram of which fuse is which.
There should be a fuse in the panel under the left hand side of the dash board. It would be labled cig ltr or assy. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer, thanks.
