Spanner nut won't tighten anymore without turning the whole u-joint assembly. It needs to turn 1/2 more turn according to the directions that came with the assembly. I tightened it by hand, then hit the spanner wrench with a mallet to get another 1/2 a turn. When it gets to the spin cycle it bangs like crazy then shuts down and starts over again.

Sorry to say... You may end up buying a new washing machine. Having said that, the problem may one or more of following...

a) Broken concrete balancing slabs in the machine
b) Broken shocks in machine bottom
c) Broken inner drum spindle. Need a new inner drum.
d) Drum bearing gone and drum had moved forward.

If it is C) or D) you will be looking for a parts and labor repair bill closer to a newer machine. We repair guys make a living in North America to the cost of living here. Machine is made in Mexico or China or Korea for low wage. Too bad.. You will have to give your money to another country to get a new machine.

SOURCE: Spanner nut removel

Hi, The proper tool is P# TB123A.
You can also use a coal chissle and a hammer. Be careful that part of the spanner nut doesn't break off and hit you with the chissel. It takes a preety solid hit to losen the nut.
Hope this helps. If it does, please rate my comments and how I did in helping you. You can order the wrench as well as any other parts on my web site

SOURCE: whirlpool duet washer makes banging noise during

Sounds like the rear tub bearing has gone bad. Remove the rear panel and belt. Grab the drum drive pulley and check how it's moving up & down and side to side.

I have a thetfold c2 cassette toilet and it has developed a leak from the fresh water tank, but not sure where and how to fix,or wether a newer toilet can be put in?

If the leak is from a compression joint at the water intake to the tank you can tighten it, and it may stop. you will need two spanners. do not over tighten, about 1 cm max turn or it may leak more. hold the nut on the tank side still when you do this. also check to see if the ball inside the tank is shuting off the water, it can be that this needs replaceing, but can be just ajustment of ball float nut is needed.

I have a Kenmore model 110.27812690 washing machine and I was wondering how tight do you tighten the spanner nut when putting it back together?

Since the tub fits into tabs / slots on the drive tube, the spanner nut is meant to simply hold it in place, DON'T over tighten it. I'd turn it hand tight and then give it another 1/4 turn.

Rear turn signal

the stem goes through the body - and has a nut on the other end. You need to find the two wires coming out this hollow nut, trace them to the connectors (undoing any clips that hold them as you go along the wire) and pull these two connectors apart. Then use a spanner (no room for a socket) to undo the nut on the indicator - pull out the indicator and its wire from the body.
Fitting the new indicator requires sending the wires back to the connector, (put the nut on the wire after it goes through the body and tighten it a little on the indicator - you must do this before you connect the wire or it is impossible to attach the nut) Then fully tighten the indicator and make sure it is straight - then test for proper operation of the indicator.
reattaching the clips that keep the wiring out of harms way
