You might check the cords because some people get the two red cords mixed up and plug the audio into the wrong hole try switching the two red cords. this is only if you are using the hd cords

Hi I just bought a pioneer vsx-42 cable box and was wondering how to hook my Xbox 360 up through there so I can play on the tv, I have an hdmi cord And will be playing on a Samsung smart tv

Hook your X Box into the Receiver HDMI input with your HDMI cable and another HDMI cable from the HDMI out on the receiver to the HDMI input on your TV.

Hi Mom, the bad news is your sons X-box is in need of an x-clamp replacement. It happens when the x-box gets too hot and causes the clamps to warp. The good news is that it is a fairly common problem and is usually relatively inexpensive to fix. I would recommend finding a game store who repairs these in your area.

X box 360 when playing a game red lines run horizontally down the screen and flicker. on the pause menu everythings ok. and tv ok, this happened on fallout3 and tried GTA still there

This sounds more like the video connection. Is it hooked up through HDMI or the component cables. If possible try the other, or see if you can borrow a friends and try to swap to see if that fixes. Also see if there are different ports you can try on the tv.

Your component cable is probably switched to the HD setting. You have to switch it back in order to get video when hooked up to a regular TV.

Xbox 360

your a/v cords may be fried along with the ports... and did you ever turn the xbox OFF before you went to bed? if not, you could have:
1. fried the leds
or
2. overheated the motherboard.

try getting a new a/v cord and check the ports on your tv. are you hooked up to HDMI? if so, you might have put them in the wrong slots somehow or the ports might have been shot.

Xbox 360 has sound but no picture on HD setting

Is the tv rated for HD? if its not the inputs will be at a wrong voltage and will create that snow like effect.

Is the TV you normally game on HD?

X box 360

You can't get an IP address on the Xbox that way. You need to get an IP address from a device that works as a DHCP server such as a residential router. Connecting the Xbox to the PC will do nothing for you.

You need a audio cable for sound. HDMI cable is only for picture. I use the comp 1 plugs myself, better picture. I found with my TV that the HDMI cable is only good if you have a digital box for it. You can also use the plug to hook your computer to off your graphics card and watch downloaded movies on.
