Cut em off. Attach wires to A and B terminals on ML300.
Do not plug in power pack until all lights are wired.
Read the product manual.

First check to make sure that you do not have more watts pulling than is recommended. If this is ok then pull both the red and black plastic pin from the timer and replace them then try. If neither of these solutions work you may have a problem at power source.

You connect the lights to the A and B terminal.

The C terminal is used for an optional photo control.

SOURCE: How do I connect the LV814PR Malibu remote photo

To connect the Malibu LV814PR photo control to the Malibu ML200RT:

On the bottom of the power pack you should have 3 terminals: A, B, and C. The trick to understanding how the photo control is connected to the power pack is to understand that the "C" terminal on the power pack is a "dummy" terminal. It is _not_ connected to the transformer in _any_way. It serves the same basic purpose as a wire nut, it's just a connection point.

To avoid confusion following these instructions, disconnect your existing wires from the lights to the power pack. (they should already be under terminals A and B.

To connect the photo control:

1...Connect the outside solid black wire from the photo control to the "A" terminal on the power pack.

2...Connect the center wire from the photo control to the "B" terminal on the power pack.

3...Connect the red striped wire on the photo control to the "C" terminal on the power pack.

4...Now reconnect the lights, except this time connect one wire from the lights to the "B" terminal (along with the center wire from the photo control) and the other wire from the lights to the "C" terminal (along with the red striped wire from the photo control).

Alternatively, one could not even use the "C" terminal and just connect those 2 wires with a wire nut. Kinda messy, hence, the reason for the "C" terminal.

If you want to have the lights on from dusk to dawn, remove both the red and black trippers and turn the manual switch to ON.

If you want the lights to come on at dusk and OFF at, say, Midnight, put the black tripper at Midnight.

Enjoy your lights.

I replaced an old Malibu 300 watt powerpack with a new digital 300 watt Malibu power pack and when I turn it on it runs for about a miniut and then shuts down. I have 15 11watt light on it, the same as the...

300 watt power pack should have 300 watt load.
You have 165 watt load.

Problem might be the photo eye.
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Malibu-8100-9045-01-large.jpg
Rotate manual dial to ON position and see if lights turn ON.
Keep in mind the digital power pack has photoeye that is light sensitive, and must be exposed to dark light to activate.
For timed functions. Rotate manual dial until it points at timer. Press clock set function button, and use up-down buttons to set current time. Press timer ON button, and then use up-down to set ON timer. Then press timer OFF button , and use arrow keys to set OFF time.

This product has 1 year limited warranty, contrast with old-type analog power pack with 5-year warranty.
Malibu does not even post a manual on their site, which might have troubleshoot section to illuminate why your system has problem,

I put in a new 200 w Malibu LV. It worked one day, then only one light would work. The next day it worked again on all lights then it went back to lighting only one. I'm using a combination of 12 LV...

I don't have repair for defective transformer.
The transformer puts power on the wire. Buy multimeter and check voltage across the terminals.
If wires are loose, or bulbs are not connected to wire, or bulbs burned out, or if wattage of bulbs is mis-matched with transformer wattage, then lights might not work as expected.

Two things, what size and thread screws on the wire connections and are there separate on off cycles for each 300 watt unit if so how do you set them separately \

ML series power pack has 2 sets of A-B-C terminals.
1) The terminals are not on separate circuits.
2) Typically, Intermatic timers have 10-32 screw.

I just replaced a light (not bulb) in my Malibu low voltage lighting system with a new one and the new one didn't work. Now the rest of the lights past this point do not work, but the ones before this...

Working with the bulbs can cause other bulbs to go out.
Malibu suggests turn power pack off when replacing bulbs.
Also connections get loose and need to be re-attached.

My 600 watt 12 volt transformer timer for out door lighting does not keep time properly. HOw do I get and install a new timer?

1) Amazon sells 600Watt power pack:
http://www.amazon.com/Malibu-8100-9600-01-Voltage-Power-Transformer/sim/B002ZRPM4A/2

2) I bought new 300Watt Malibu power pack at Home Depot about 2 months ago.
Near the lighting section.
My new power pack has electronic time clock, so no more 'slow clock.'
I think Home Depot had 600Watt.
Lowes carries different brand.

3) Manuals for power packs at Malibu lights.com
http://www.malibulights.com/customer_service/owners_manuals.aspx

4) Tips for buying and taking care of power pack:
-Match up wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
-15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
-Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
-Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
-When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.
http://www.malibulights.com/guides_support/low_voltage_planning_guide/select_your_power_pack

5) How to install power pack.
Before unplugging old power pack, check which bulbs are not working.
Replace bulbs using phillips screwdriver.
Unplug power pack.
Notice how wires are connected to power pack, write down terminal connections.
Some power packs have three terminals ... extra terminal is for additional photoelectric eye.
Use pliers or screwdriver to disconnect wires.
New power pack has has same terminals.
Plug in power pack.
Read instruction manual before connecting wires.
Save instruction manual because a few years that manual won't be around as products change.

My malibu landscape 300w transformer does not want to come on

Check that power pack is getting electricity.
Power pack should make a small humming sound when on.
Scratch a wire across both terminal screws and see if there is spark.
If a bulb burns out, and is not replaced, additional voltage can burn out other bulbs.
Power pack should be unplugged if bulbs are not burning since that can burn out power pack.
Change out a couple bulbs and then plug-in power pack.
Check connections where lights tie into wire.

My power pack was doing same thing, I bought another power pack from Home Depot to check my lights. All but 2 bulbs were burned out. I replaced bulbs and returned new power pack.. and then power pack quit for good a month later.

I found tips to preserve power packs:
1) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
-15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
2) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
3) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
4) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

Timer will not tirun on the lights, it stops when it gets to the time to turn on.

Malibu home page
Malibu manuals

Try the manual override >>> un-plug power pack and try loosening manual override with WD-40

It sounds like the clock motor is unable to push the manual override
Don't continue to run power pack or the clock motor will burn up or break a plastic gear

If manual override will not work, or clock will not trip on lights, you need a new power pack
Power pack size chart and wire length

Be sure to buy same wattage power pack as you have
The 300 Watt unit is made for 15 - 20watt bulbs (15 x 20 = 300)
If you buy 600 Watt power pack and hook it up to 10 - 20 watt bulbs, it will burn out the bulbs
Manual also says to replace burned out bulbs ASAP or other bulbs will burn out.
