Philips 725 dictation system executive was working fine but now it wont do anything, every time i push the foot pedal it just beeps

Same machine and model and same problem. It’s really irritating. It’s not the bobbin as the screen flashes worth the foot pedal. I’ll look at the tension but given how often it beeps and on so many different projects with different thread and tension it seems to be a fault of some kind... searching for a fix...

That adjustment is within the software itself. settings,general settings, player, autobackspace.

Could very well be a bad plug on the mother board. Common problem with these units

Bad deck, worm gear is bad on the function motor.

Make sure that you pushed the bobbin winder all the way to the left.

does your manual mention anything about a buttonhole lever that must be pulled down each time you make a buttonhole & then pushed back up afterwards

The foot pedal needs to be plugged in before the software is installed. Just uninstall the software (your files will be fine) and reinstall with foot pedal attached.

Make sure you are installing the Transcription version of the software not the Dictation version (Transcription version serial number starts with RTM and dictation starts with RDM). The foot pedal will not work with the dictation version of the software.

My dictation pedal for the Olympus AS-4000 used to work on windows XP, but I upgraded to windows Vista and and the foot pedal no longer works. I have tried it on another XP machine and it works fine, so it can't be the foot pedal.

I have downloaded a patch from the internet, but unfortunately this does not seem to have resolved the issue.

I have contacted olympus twice and they have been very unhelpful.
