Your generator may use a carb used on many applications. Look closely on the shroud /cover of the engine itself for brand and model /serial number. Contact the parts dealer or even ebay for parts of that engine. Good luck
If it runs at all, then it is not the spark, so it must be fuel.
Flush the tank and put in new clean fuel. If it still does not run right, then you probably need to rebuild the carbureator.
find a honda dealer and pray its not expensive... Or find a small engine shop and see if they have some junk generators laying around and buy the best tank they have and make it work...
most small lawn mowers have a carborator mounted on the gas tank. if you take the screws out and look it has a gasket and the gasket will be bad and need to be replaced also if it is a newwer model it has a primer bulb that needs to be replaced at same time.
