Be sure the fan is running and the filter is clean. If those are both good, it's probably the thermal sensor. That would require a factory repair.

After running for a few minutes the picture abruptly shuts off and turns back on for a few minutes then shuts off. This cycle repeats itself over and over.

Make sure the top and back of it are not dirty or obstructed, it sounds like it is overheating and shutting down to protect itself. Or your main power board is going out.

Machine shuts off after 10 minutes and clothes do not dry

it sounds to me like your temperature sensor is bad, but it may also be the one in the motor overheat protection. this could be caused by some small object jammed between the turning drum and the frame of your machine. if the machine seems to work fine, but shuts down after a few minutes, it should be a cheap fix, heat sensors are not that expensive. best luck to you.

Oster OM1201E0VG countertop microwave

It sounds like the thermal fuse may be defective, or the fan is not running, or the magnetron is getting to hot. If there are any heat issues the thermal fuse will cut power and reset in 5 minutes.

The screen says ''protected'' and the goes off.

It sounds like the stereo functions for a little while, then shuts off. This is the power supply circuit breaker kicking in. It can be caused by a variety of issues, ranging from a faulty component on the circuit board (capacitor/resistor going out of tolerance) to an internal issue with the power supply induced by the heat generated after running for a few minutes.

If the stereo was subjected to moisture or extreme heat, it might function normally after being left unplugged for a few days. But in all likelihood, it may require some internal repair. I had a similar problem with an older JVC bookshelf stereo system and when I took it into a shop for an estimate, the rather frank service rep told me that the costs involved with fixing it could very likely cost more than the unit is worth. I ended up not bothering and just cannibalizing the speakers for another mini stereo system.

TV shuts off after 15/20 mins!!

 Dear customer,
It could be the transformer. The problem with protection circuit shut downs is you don't know which section is causing the trouble.  The protection system is really just a current sampler that when it detects an excessive current it opens up the power relay and shuts the power off.  And, as you indicated, unplugging for a few minutes will reset the protection detector.

But, there are about 8 or 10 sections within the tv and you don't know which section has the excessive current.   Most common causes are power supply, high voltage supply, deflection amplifiers or audio amplifier.  It usually takes a tech a few minutes to take some voltages and other checks to zero in on the culprit. Once the section is known then that tech can troubleshoot it for the bad component or shorted condition.
Usually  it works fine until there is a signal coming in through the coaxial port. that is wen the tv gets switched off. Its a possibilty. Checking the  power supply unit of ur tv and see if it has malfunctioned and  check your power cable for starters..
Plz rate this solution.. thank you..

Mitsubishi VS-45607

there is a protection circut that will shut down the tv when it detects a failure in one of the components , when components heat up to much they go into thermal breakdown, the part that is heating up and failing is getting worse , so it will need to be test to determine which one

Data recovery from a bad power unit

Your data on the HD is probably OK, If the PC powers up and then shuts off it usually is a heat problem. If it shuts down quickly it may be a sensor on the motherboard that detects heat and may be bad and the motherboard will need to be replaced.

If it runs for a minute or two then shuts down there is heat somewhere causing problems with the processor and the motherboard is protecting the system. Check the fans inside the PC, specifically the small one on top of the processor, then the case fans. Also check the power supply fan and see if it is working, if not the heat may be cutting the power supply's power to the PC causing the shutdown.

Crash!!

Could be Heat, sounds like the system is shutting down to protect the processor. Let it sit shut down over night and see if it runs longer when it's cooled down. Is the fan running?

Samsung LN-t375h - Shuts off after a few minutes

Sometimes components on the circuit boards can become thermo sensitive with age and use.

An experienced tech can troubleshoot for this, locate the defective components, and replace them. Under controled conditions, he will use a technique of using liquid air to cool, and a heat gun to heat.

The fault can be in the power supply, or any of the boards causing a change in the specs, thus causing the supply to go in to the protect mode.
