I'm in need of a belt for my Necchi Model M512548 B-U Mira sewing machine. This machine is over 50 years old and still sews wonderfully. The belt is getting very hard and slips occasionally and I need to find where to purchase a new belt and possibly replace the bobbin wheels. Thanks for your help.

Sheila, I called the company which sells Necchi Machines and parts(Allyn) in the States about the belts.Their Number is 800-525-9987. The parts department says Necchi used several different motors with differing motor mounts which means there is no standard motor belt for this model machine. The only way to get the right belt is to either take in the machine or the old belt to your repairman. More than likely he will have a Generic belt which will work. sewman7
Bu Mira was made in Italy between 1952-1956 it was the machine where the introduced the Wonder Wheel to make decorative stitches, olive green in color . There are some people who collect them but like all antiques the rearer the are and the better origonal condition the are in the more the are worth.
