Create a different user account. You won't have administrator permissions but you still may be able to perform the task you were trying to do when it prompted you for a password.

Stuck at BIOS password in my Thinkpad

The laptop cannot decide by itself to ask for a password. It was set by the owner. Ask around you to see if anybody admits doing it.
Or take the computer to a Lenovo service center to have the password removed. Be ready to show proof of ownership. Be ready to pay foe the service if the laptop is no longer under warranty.
Out of curiosity: have tried contacting Lenovo support?

NETGEAR 20

You need to ask Lenovo support why it does this, as it is not normal.

Are you sure it is not asking for the password number?

This you need to get from the router as it depends on the protocol used. If it is your router you should already have the password.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your Lenovo laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Try tapping F8 when booting up. This should take you to a black screen with white text with Safe Mode at the top. Using the arrow keys select Safe Mode and press Enter. It you can boot up windows from here, then go to the start button, control panel, user accounts, and delete the password.
