SOURCE: I have a Nordic Track exp1000 i fit and the track is not working.
It's either the electronics console overlay -- this thing often goes on this model -- or your motor is shot.
Have you ever seen it working?
Repairs can expensive.
You can buy an excellent replacement console electronics part for $100 (http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/Nordictrack-Console-Keypad-Overlay) , but if it's actually the motor, then you've still got more to spend.
In home service can easily run $150 for the call plus cost of parts.
If you decide that you're not going to try and get it repaired and you're going to toss it, I'd like to buy some plastic housing parts off that non-working unit from you. Please email me directly.
Cheers,
Mark

I know it's been months, but, if you still have this problem try this: 1. remove the philips screws holding the motor/belt/electronics cover on: you can lay the whole thing on it's side and remove them from the bottom. there's two in the front and two on the sides.
2. Obviously, unplug the unit! before doing anything. lay the unit back on it's feet (normal position)
3. Find the incline motor assembly. it will be int he middle of everything. black tube thingy.
4. take a cordless drill with a flat head screw driver bit, and turn the incline motor CCW. until the bed is flat.
5. what what I have read, you should shop for a new incline sensor. these fail before the motor does.
SOURCE: My Nordic Track treadmill has has 10 speeds (1mph
You should have a speed arrow up & down, this increases and decreases the speed in .1 mph. Try this control and see how the unit re-acts if the speed does not adjust in .1 mph increments or it stay the same either way it sounds like an upper board issue. Go to iconfitness.com go to customer service the replacement parts put you M# and will give part# and pricing.
RULE OF THUMB: IF REPAIR IS MORE THAN THE THE PURCHASE PRICE OF UNIT DOE NOT REPAIR

SOURCE: Nordic Track treadmill trips GFI.
Have you lubricated the the running deck? The lack of lubrication can increase friction thus causing the GFI to trip. simple test start the treadmill do not walk on a see if the GFI is tripped in it does trip then lubricate, then if after lubricate it still the you have a worn belt and possibly damaged deck depending replacement price and on what you paid for the treadmill it may or may not be worth fixing.
