I would suspect you have a power problem. Voltage too low or high can damage electronics very quickly. Voltage spikes also can fry TV's. Your power company can help. Monster makes a complete power solution with sophisticated filters and a power supply regulator that will keep power within specs but you will spend close to $ 1000 for this solution. I don't think Humidity is the culprit but corrosion due to salt is another matter. If salt is the culprit then you are out of luck unless you want to install the kind of air filtration system used for a shelter from Atomic Attack.
Using the KISS principal I would check the power first.

I was wondering if you were able to solve this issue. i am having the same exact issue with my tv. and i did not get an extended warranty thinking that nothing would go wrong with a sony tv. i learny my lesson the hard way.
