The TV878 WDM Driver installation failed ! How to fix?

Step 1. Install Microtek ScanWizard 5
Install the ScanWizard 5 scanner driver (included in your Microtek CD-ROM) as instructed in the Installing and Getting Started booklet(a separate document that came with your scanner package).
For ScanWizard 5 to work properly after installation, the correct scanner model should be properly connected to your host beforehand and it needs to be "powered on" before launching the software.

Make sure you verify that your computer meets the requirements for the Omega. I have one of these and it installed on an XP with no problem.

Maybe you have Vista instead of XP. OFTEN there are incompatibilities of Vista. If you have that or heaven forbod Windows 7, you may either need a different WDM or have to backstep to the XP operating system.

In short, VERIFY the requirements of teh Omega and its software with the OS and system you are trying to install it on.

A last thing to try is to install it while in "SAFE MODE".

What you are referring to is part of Windows Media Player. WDM is simply Windows Driver Model. The WINMM refers to Windows MultiMedia. If you download and install the latest version of Windows Media Player for your operating system, it should resolve any issues you are having with it.

The WDM driver is required to capture video. You need to go to the website of that capture device, and download the WDM driver.
If you can't find one there, try to look in MyComputer/Properties/advanced/Hardware/DeviceManager and find the DeviceID of your video capture device. Then use Google to find places to download that driver.
