download driver from given link and install downloaded setup and follow instruction..

The driver still might work under Vista. Download the latest one at this location - http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=6929290000&pi=platform_scannerdiamond1200plus - and install.

There maybe a fault with disc mate, try downloading the software from lexmarks own site

If the Lexmark software is not compatible with Vista, there is nothing you can do. Lexmark is telling you the the driver code does not play well with with the O/S.

Sometimes if you know of a comparable HP printer you can use that driver to talk to our printers but there may be some odd-problems that surface.


The best thing to do is to purchase a Lexmark printer that is compatible with Vista. It not uncommon for printer to be abandoned as the code grows more and more complex.

The only way to setup the printer without the proper drivers would be to use windows add new printer. However windows does not have lexmark x1270 listed. You can dlownload the software from lexmark & install the software / drivers without using the cd.
