My tablet is slow and freezing up

Hi! I am Raymond, too!

You may have too many opened applications in the tablet memory, so the computer has to swap applications out of memory into a temporary storage section (in computer language it is a called "paging") and load up the next application, thus taking time from running your applications themselves. I recommend installing one of several "cleaning" tools, such as "CCleaner" or "AVG" (which is also a virus checker). Run them often and let them clean your tablet's memory. There are smaller version of PC/Windows and smartphone applications and are free, but will post messages for upgrading to the paid versions.

AVG will install a monitor and will tell you if any applications are still active, putting them to sleep if you are not using them ans saving memory. If you don't like one of the tools, just uninstall it and try another.

My pad says the internal storage is almost used up...I inserted an sd card, but not sure how to get the tablet to read it so that I'm able to install more apps and games.

Good afternoon Linda!

You can view your manual here
RCA RCT6077W2 Manuals . If you go to page 10
RCA RCT6077W2 User Manual Micro usb Headphone Micro Sd it notes a couple of important caveats on the card:
  1. You can use MicroSD or MicroSDHC type cards
  2. Size limit of 32GB
  3. You are warned never to insert or remove the MicroSD card in 'On' mode (i.e. only insert/remove the card when the tablet is off)
Aside from that, it looks like things should work. To be sure on what is the root of the issue, you can:
  1. Insert your card into another device to verify that it works
  2. Format or Re-Format the card - the SD Card association has a formatting app here:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4

  • Make sure the card is legit. If it was purchased, for instance, off of Ebay, or other not-so-top-tier online store, as likely as not it's a fake made in China, likely with guts from manufacturing rejects. You might, for instance, get a card marked 32Gb that actually has a 2Gb chip in it with a hacked controller that says it's 32Gb. It'll seem to work OK for a few files, and at some point will just write your files into no-where. SD Insight, a free checker app for Android phones can be picked up here
SD Insight Confirm your micro SD card authenticity instantly amongst many options.

Hoping this helps!

Keeps coming back that my sign in failed on my email acount and password has changed i didn't change my password

The only thing you can do is click the "forgot password" link and make a new password. You may have been hacked. This time choose a strong password so that doesn't happen again. Go to: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/pc-security/password-checker.aspx and test any passwords you would like to use FIRST.

Tablet want hold a charge

Charge problems are an issue that is common with ALL tablets. On mine I had to completely back up all my data to an SD card or you can use the cloud if you want. Do this first while it's hooked to a source of power via your usb cord. Next locate the menu option to do a factory reset. This will warn you about deleting all your data. (you've backed it up so... ) proceed. Restart your tablet. Now locate in your menu system the anything that will allow you to disable your manufacturer's graphic user interface and software. restart again. Your tablet will appear different... that's the REAL android interface. Plug your charger in, see if your little battery symbol shows a lightening bolt. Leave it sit for a while and check to see if you have progress.

If you are charging, good! If not, your only recourse is to do a hard factory reset. I'm sorry but I do not know how to do that with your model.

FYI, it very well could have been one of your apps that caused this issue as well as the GUI from the manufacturer. Make sure you get a virus checker, and other security software to protect you.

Good luck

IP Address unavailable/ cannot hook up to internet

Has it been rooted?
The equivelent of a an ipad/iphone jailbreak?

You can check this by doing one of two things.
The first is by going into settings, scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on About Tablet.
If not that then go to Settings/Device and then click About Tablet.

The second, and easiest, is to check to see if you have an app called SuperUser (SU).
If you do then your device is rooted.

Other ways to check, which is more dificult because of you not being able to get WiFi access, is by downloading an app called Root Checker or a Terminal app.
Root checker is self explanitory as it does exactly what it says on the tin.
It will check to see if you have root access to your device and will tell you either way.
The terminal app will show a hash tag symbol (#) as soon as it is started.
This is also an indicator of root access.

Have a look in the WiFi/network settings for your device and see if it has been set up to use a proxy or VPN.
If it has then clear these settings and try to enable the WiFi again.
If this doesn't work then i would restore the device back to factory settings as it could be a software issue.
Failing that you could always upgrade the firmware to the new 4.4 KitKat which, if your device is rooted, will wipe root access out.

TC1100 checkered screen

Could be a bad ram chip as video uses the system board ram for video. You will have to crack the case and swap the ram for a known good stick. Be very careful!
Unfortunately the onboard video card may be bad, usually the problem.
I could crack it and check it for you, you pay shipping. I have the RAM.
Contact me at [email protected] with "TC1100 repair" in the subject line.
I love the machine and you shouldn't have to pay a fortune to get an opinion.
I don't offer this service to any other group, machine or etc. Just the tc1000 and tc1100.
I'll answer your email and suppl contact info. I've been into several of these machines, no worries Mate.

Chequered screen

Hi,
I fixed mine finally!!! I ordered a cable kit and replaced the cable from the display to the motherboard (I actualy replaced them all but that one was the culprit.) Also, I learned that if you put the cable in backwards :) into the motherboard, it will appear very dim as it did with the bad cable. I believe that this is because the backlight inverter is not active, which in other posts here, may mean that the inverter is bad. Just a thought...
