How can I make the mobile silent while someone calling

Only advice I have is to set custom ring tones for everyone in your contact list. Then set your main tone as silent. When someone in your contact list calls it will ring with the tone you manually set for that contact. When someone not in your contacts calls it will be set to silent.

either your profile is silent or your volume is down. whenever your profile is in silent mode/vibrate mode even if someone is calling you it wont ring. change that to ringer via settings and sounds.

you can press and hold the volume down button to silence it..

You can change the ring tone mode to silent when you receive a call. For this , select the overturning option from your mobile, i.e :

MENU>Settings >General >gestures>Overturning

from your query it is clear that their is no problem in your mobiles hardware( speakers and circuit).
therefore there must be a problem with your mobile software.
first trying checking that your mobiles profile must not be switched to silent profile or meeting profile or vibrate profile.
if it is in any above profile then immediately change your profile to normal or outdoor.
then confrom that it its ringtone and message tone status is full. And then check if its call alert and message alert are on to "vibrate and ring" or "ring only".
do these correctly, if done then it will work definitily.

You probably have silent mode on. Try pressing and holding the pound or the star key. One of those will probably release silent mode, so that whatever ring setting you have can be used.

you have to go to "voice commands" and turn off the call alert mode... put it on "ring only"

the problem might be you have kept ur mobile phone in silent mode or the ringtone sound level may be low.pls rate me
