Audio devices for Lenovo Y500

I have installed the drivers and audio for the Lenovo Y500 after Windows Vista was formatted and i loaded the Windows XP 2003 but the sound is still off wat do i need to do to fix this

The sound drivers for Vista does not work for XP.

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP device drivers for your model laptop,
Use this link :-
http://www.ibm.com/products/finder/us/finders?pg=ddfinder&cm_re=other-_-suprcn-_-download

After you download the driver file, click on this file and it will unzip/expand the drivers and copies these files to the hard drive in c:\drivers\... take a note of the folder it has created to store the driver files and then go to this folder and run the SETUP file to install the driver.

If you have installed Windows Vista you need the Vista drivers.

If you have installed Windows XP you need the XP drivers.

Make sure you use the correct drivers.

Hi saleem_tipu,

Based on your situation, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Download the updated Audio and Video driver here.

2. Go to Audio and Video section and make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading, install the drivers and then restart your computer.

Your audio device is likely DSP based, and not actual hardware. You should be able to find the driver at lenovo.com. Once installed, then your audio device(s) should be detected and ready to use.

Here is the lenovo site for the drivers for you pc. Only download and install the xp driver versions...after which you should be able to update the drivers for the devices that have the yellow color and should not have any problems installing.

You can also check the windows update site...do a custom update and search for drivers...sometimes new driver versions can be downloaded that way.

Lenovo driver problem

Check the following location for the drivers for your Ideapad Y510.
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=12

The drivers for lenovo y410 will not work for your laptop.
In fact most of the XP drivers at the above link were available since December 2007
