?Automatically mark junk e-mail as read in Outlook 2007?

Does anyone know how automatically mark junk emails as read in Outlook 2007? I don't like how the folder fills up and shows all the messages in there. I notice that there's a utility/plug-in called Auto Read 2.0 that does this for Outlook 97 through 2003, but they don't have a version for 2007. Seems like it should be a simple rule filter operation, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

You can change the view for your Deleted Items by not showing how many items are unread. Right-click the Deleted Items icon, and you will be presented on how the messages are displayed - whether or not unread messages will be indicated.

SOURCE: Mark all the messages as read in the junk-email folder as soon as it reaches

If you go to your Junk Mail folder, and you mark one of the messages as "Read", your total number of what appears to be new messages next to the Junk Mail folder in the list stays the same. This is so that you know how many messages are in the Junk Mail folder. The only option within Outlook 2007 you have, is to set it to permenately delete all Junk Mail, rather than moving it to the folder.

Clean my mail box of spam

Most email accounts these days offer a second access point: a Web page. If your account is supplied by Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail/Outlook.com (or another Microsoft service), or your cable company, for example, you can edit your messages online, using your computer. That way you have the benefit of a bigger screen, a mouse and a keyboard, so it's quick and easy to delete huge swaths of junk mail.
At Gmail.com, for example, you can click the first checkbox to select it and then Shift-click the last one; all the messages in between are automatically selected. Try to select the ones you think are spam and delete them.

Not able to sent email from outlook 2007

Do you have Outlook set up to work with a specific email account? The details of how to make Outlook send mail vary depending on which kind of email you are using (Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc.). You can find instructions for making Outlook 2007 work with many of the common types of email at:

http://www.living-with-outlook.com/outlook-web-mail.html

If this doesn't help, you should post information on the kind of email service you are using. Specifically, who is the email provider (Comcast, Verizon, etc.)

My new laptop is not sending email because there are 400+ emails coming in mostly junk I am sure.

Hello,
Is anything preventing you from entering your mail box? If not, go to you mail box, use a Select All (CTRL A) and delete all the junk. Once you regain control of your mail box, configure your Email client (Outlook, Outlook express or other) to automatically send certain Emails to a junk mail box.

If your current Email client is limited in functionalities, you may find Mozilla Thunderbird more appropriate.

Hope it helps
