Since you haven't told us what brand and model it is, I can only venture a guess. Try buying Windows XP, since Microsoft will discontinue that OS soon, so it may not cost a lot.
Then, after installing and configuring it, get to the Microsoft update site and update to Service Pack 3 (SP3), and make sure you have all other updates installed, again in case they discontinue that OS soon.
Amazon is a good website or ebay. Check regularly. Also talk to the company, maybe there is a good reason it is discontinued and will make you change your mind on buying one
