The player will play 1 out of 10 times of trying. I have sprayed the can air and tried the Disc Cleaner nothing helps. Is there a fix for the loading error

The disc cleaner is not exactly clean your lens! much better to open your DVD and you clean the lens with 100% cotton or cotton buds then slightly touch your cotton to lens in clockwise to remove the dirt!

Why does my digitec dvd player say NO DISC?

Usually, you either have dust on the laser, so it can't see anything, or you have something on your disc (or damage to the inside part of the disc, which tells the player where all the files are). You can try cleaning your disc, but if you've already tried more than one disc, you might be able to find a CD or DVD cleaning disc at an electronics store. If your DVD player plays CDs, either one might work, but if it doesn't play CDs, then you will have to look for a DVD cleaner. As a last resort, you could try getting a can of electronics dusting spray (don't use a vacuum, as the static from a vacuum can damage electronics) and use several quick sprays, while the DVD player is unplugged. Give it a few minutes to dry out, then give the DVD one more try.

Shows all disc as bad

if you have a dvd lens cleaner tried to clean it first. if still no disc error, look for the spindle motor if it is rotating while you are playing with a disc. if not, check for motor worn out at this time you will need to remove the cover to access the internal part.

I have a Digital Home Theater HT-DS400 Samsung. I have problems in reading a music CD or a DVD. You can read the message "Loading.." for a while and then stops and reads "NO DISC". ...

  • Make sure you have a non home made DVD. Some DVD players will not play DVD'S in certain formats.
  • If you have a normal DVD in the DVD player and are getting "NO Disk" then there is a real good possibility the lens is just so dirty that it is not recognizing your DVD at all. This happens a lot to all disk players that are neglected from the cleaning process. Get a disk player cleaner and run it through a few times until the disk is read again. Sometimes the lens is so dirty you have to try a few times just to get the cleaner disk itself to play just to do the actual cleaning. Make sure to run that cleaner disk through once a week. These disk cleaners "sweep" the lens and work well. You can get one at your local Best Buy for $8usd.
  • The last thing it could be is that somehow the lens has come out of alignment. Just a millimeter out of alignment is all it takes to not be able to read a disk and DVD players get bumped and knocked off the shelf easy. So this can happen often especially with the more smaller travel DVD player.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

The DVD player can't watch DVD , only play Audio. When insert DVD disc , after loading , it appear [ bad disc ]

You probably have a dirty reading head. Try cleaning it with a DVD cleaner disc. (you can get them from wal-mart) If that doesn't want to co-operate after trying to use it three or so times open the drive, remove the disc and shoot some canned air in the slot where the disc holder is in a sweeping motion. Then try the cleaner disc again. If it still won't work after that you can either buy another one or take it to someone that understands how to take things apart and have them clean it manually. (gentle singular motion with a cotton swab) If that doesn't work have them adjust the resistance pots on the laser head a little lower (this would amp the laser up a little) I should mention that if they aren't sure what to do and they lower the resistance TOO much then your laser will indeed burn out quicker.

Long loading time, then readout says, bad disc.

The lazer beam of the disc has a micro dust that need to remove. You can try to use the cd cleaner. If nothing happen , you need to open the disc and spray the lenses with soft air.

When a disc is loaded, it reads no disc, and disc cannot be played.

It is very possible that the lens motor has burnt out. Sometimes the capacitors on the motherborard short out causing the gear timing to go out..

The only thing you can do to fix this is to take the cover off. Get cotton swab and dip it rubbing alcohol and clean the glass laser eye with it.

We have a yamaha dvd player, model number dv-s5450 and it won't play our dvds. Sometimes it works but sometimes it won't even read them, tried cleaning lasers with laser cleaner and that didn't work any...

I had a similar problem...the machine, which had been great up until then, started to be very fussy when loading a disc; using a lens cleaner did not help at all.

I opened the disc tray and used a can of "air duster" with the straw attachment blowing in lots of air into every little nook and cranny that I could reach, especially in and around the actual lens area. The liquified gas under pressure must have been too cold as, at first, there was no improvement whatsoever when I tried playing a disc. However, the next day the player was working perfectly again.

It is worth a try.

After loading every disc displayes "wrong disc'

are they bootleg dvd's? if not try getting a lense cleaner because wrong disc means it's reading your dvd's as .mov files which only play on quicktime in a computer. if it reads your cleaner as wrong disk too then get yourself a refund cuz it has a motherboard malfunction.
